Help With My Test Results for Celiac
 
I've already determined that I'm sensitive to wheat/gluten to some extent through trial and error. I also have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (auto-immune) and will stay away from gluten going forward. However, I did have the test for celiac and if I'm reading it right, I don't have celiac, but help is needed to make sure.

1. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum = 74 mg/dL (70-400)
2. Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA = 3 units (0-19)
Negative 0-19
Weak Positive 20-30
Moderate to Strong Positive >30
Do the above 3 lines refer to #1 or #2 or both?

3. t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA <2 U/mL (0-3)
Negative 0-3
Weak Positive 4-10
Positive >10
Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy.

4. t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgG <2 U/mL (0-5)
Negative 0-5
Weak Positive 6-9
Positive >9

5. Endomysial Antibody IgA = Negative

From the above it seems to me that I do not test positive for celiac. I do not have awful symptoms, but note that when I've eaten gluten I bloat and have mild cramps and headaches which tells me I need to eliminate it anyway. However, I'd appreciate confirmation of my reading of these results.

well, you don't have a strongly positive blood test for celiac but the only gold standard of celiac disease diagnosis is an intestinal biopsy. The interesting thing about your results is that you have a very low normal IgA (at 74 when normal is 70-400). Because of this, the other results can be skewed because they rely on a count and if the overall count is low, they will be lower than normal, too. So your negative results can be a false negative and caused by a deficiency of IgA instead.

Does that make sense?

That said, gluten-intolerance can be just as bad and since you already have one auto-immune disease, the chance of a latent celiac disease is higher.
