Gluten Free Makeup?

Is anyone aware of what brands of makeup (including moisturizers/facial cleansing products) are Gluten Free?

Thanks!

I have Celiac. I also have HIE (Hyper IgE Infectious Syndrome), asthma, arthritis, PAN, and ovarian cancer (can't say I'm 'survivor' yet, but I'm coming out of the woods, so to speak), anaphylaxis.

I've only found two forms of 'makeup' that I can use without getting those big 'herpetiformis' sores on my face. One is BE (or one like it...the dry, powder, mineral-type makeups you brush on?) but they bother my asthma...from inhaling the 'dust'. The other is Almay...most of their product does NOT bother my skin. I just don't wear makeup very often...maybe six, seven times a YEAR...(but I'm not a young person and don't have to 'present' to the public every day either, so I understand that too).

Here's a 'pinned/sticky' list of foods/makeup, etc. I found by searching:

You should be able to run a Google search for those too. Just run a search for: Gluten free shampoo and conditioner. (And..before you ask...I use the same shampoo my dogs use..heh heh...it's a melaleuca-based shampoo and conditoner...I just spend so MUCH on it...that one day I ran out of mine, used theirs..it worked WAY better than any other I'd tried, doesn't irritate my skin/scalp and here I am...seven years later using theirs...and they don't mind, lol).

Daisy,
Go to Delphi forums and look for their gluten free forum. The folks there actually publish lists of safe (and unsafe) products.

I've done a lot of searching and find lists that people "think" are safe. Makes me a little nervous. However, I do know that Lancome is safe and I bought some new stuff there today (had gift w/purchase).

Well, if you go to that Delphi site, they are pretty intense about keeping their list very accurate. They have quite a system for keeping it up and the "list-keepers" and even the moderators of that forum don't tolerate "I think it's safe" - they call their list "confirmed product list" meaning you have to say you have spoken with the manufacturer either by telephone or email, etc. for something to make it on that list.

I totally agree! That's one of the first sites I was at and learned great knowledge there. Although you may hear some people (um,mainly those who don't HAVE allergy/Celiac to gluten, btw) say they are 'excessive'....we need to be sure about products safety with Celiac/gluten intolerance.

I just buy natural products with the smallest ingredient listing I can find, and then make sure those ingredients are from non-gluten containing sources. For example, my face lotion right now has three ingredients: purified water, coconut oil and jojoba. Who needs all those chemicals, anyway?

There are some great sources out there for those with allergies or sensitivities. Visit http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep/ and you can check out their reports, plus find companies that have truly natural products with small ingredient lists. Hope this helps!
