Yeah, I have Celiac Sprue. Makes it easier to stay lowcarb, that's for sure, lol. Celiac is genetic disease.....gluten intolerance is allergic in nature. I also have Hyper IgE Syndrome....and that involves more dermatitis herpetiformis than Celiac disease itself.

I belive I have a milder form of it, although the dermatologist isn't convinced. But if I eat a high gluten wheat... I start itching in my 'spotty bits" pretty soon. I am doing OK treating it like psoriasis, so maybe it is just an intolerance rather than sprue.
At any rate, I belive my mom really has it, and it contributed to her disease process over the past few years. She is careful, but there are a lot of processed foods that contain gluten. Low carb really does help tremendously! |
