Atkins drinks on Candida diet?
This information thread has been so very helpful for me. I am trying to catch up reading it. I wanted to ask what you think of Atkins drinks on a diet to control/cure Candida?
I see that cheese, dairy, mushrooms are no-nos. Somewhere I read no lettuce? Why is ACV good while other vinegar is a no-no? Mona |

I agree that there is almost too much information on candida here! But what good information to have when you are suffering so. When you say Atkins drinks, are you referring to the shakes? Definitely a no-no! Those have artificial sweeteners and flavors. Nothing good for fighting off candida! I have not heard of the no lettuce, I always have lettuce. Maybe they mean the iceberg which is rumored to be not as good for you nutrition wise as the greener varities? And ACV is just a different vinegar. I am sure that Braggs website will explain why it is better for you. Having the mother is one bit, but not sure why. I just accepted it as fact LOL.

A good website for ACV information:
Apple Cider Vinegar cures - the best NATURAL home remedy for many health issues. Undistilled, with the Mother is the best. All the good little enzymes are removed in the distilling process. Those are what help kill off yeast. I started using ACV 3 weeks ago, 2 tsp in 8oz glass of water, 3 times a day. Cannot get over the difference!!!! I highly recommend adding ACV to your regimine. Mona,
Don't get me wrong.....I have the Atkins shakes every once in a while when I am lazy. But really they should not be on an anti-candida program. There are too many chemicals in it to be healing for the candida. Bee has a nice drink on her website. I call it Bee's egg drink!! It gets you going in the morning and when you don't what to have for breakfast this is the ticket! Take 3 eggs (preferably organic!), 2 cups boiling water, 2 TBL butter, 2 TBL of coconut oil, 1 tsp cinnamon and blend it all in a blender. Tastes real good and you can take it with you like a protein shake. Hope you try this!! |

Dawn, that sounds yummy.
I have been making the egg creams for after work out, but these sound really good. Thanks for sharing! Winders |
