Diflucan (Fluconazole) and Candida? (Anyone - including FAWN???)

Hi everyone,
I posted another post about a med my doctor put me on that gave me an allergic reaction for my candida. I went back and saw them again today and was told by the person I saw that most doctors don't know much about this and that really it will be "trial and error" to figure out how to get rid of it. Since natural supliments and diet alone haven't been working well enough (I just got a bout of oral thrush) the practitioner suggested we try another med (fluconazole) ... Does anyone have experience with this? Did it help?

I ask because Nystatine (or however you spell it) caused me to gain 3 lbs over night!!! I'm scared to try something new .. I don't want to windu p being the size of a killer whale while trying to beat candida..

Thanks for the help...

Well ... that's out too ... just had an allergic reaction. I am so frustrated with the medical system, etc. Thank goodness the Pharmasist gave me the first 200 mg to try before filling the whole thing ... I was looking forward to a $92 (CAN) bill for the prescription tomorrow AM ... She suggested trying it to see if I had another allergic reaction ... BOO!!! (Apparently without my Blue Cross Coverage, which runs out the day after tomorrow, I would have paid $260!!!) It's insane!?!!?! Like I said before - if anyone has any advice .. I need it.

I know the anti-fungal natural products - Oil of Oregono, Coconut Oil, probiotics, etc. etc. BUT could someone tell me specific steps to take (i.e. Day #1 - ... , Day #2 ...) Ièm starting to worry that Ièll never get this under control...

luv check out healing naturally by bee. There's a great deal of information there. What is your menu like too? Have you excluded all yeast promoting foods like dairy, olives, mushrooms, vinegar, etc?

Here's something else that works well. I use it and cleared my future DIL's horrible case of ring worm type candida. She had dark red welts all over her body and my husband makes colloidal silver so she used it and within days, the ringworm was gone.

another example, I had a little wart on my thigh....I had candida at the onset of my low carb journey and didn't really have a clue about it but I just forged on and as my menu got cleaner (I'm not big on dairy which is huge in candida) I began taking the colloidal silver to completely clear it and to my surprise the little wart is gone.

The relationship between warts and candida resinated with me thinking back to my 24 yo son who as a baby had a horrible case of cradle cap, and as a teen a mass of warts on his knees.....

If you can get your hands on colloidal silver, I'm a firm believer in it and have seen results with my own clients as well as family members. I have a client that has used it topically for athletes foot (refuses to change his diet but the silver is clearing the athletes foot)

You will hear skeptical stories about it but those are based on people drinking copious amounts of it. I am proof that in moderate amounts it's a safe product. You'll see a gentleman referred to as blue man. There's another member here too that I know for a fact uses the silver and she feels safe as well.

So, that's my advice, I would treat it diligently on my own because the Rx's just don't cut it.

A heavy duty probiotic might be your next choice too and I recommend Dr. Ohira's brand. It's the "big guns" of probiotics.

If you're on the BCP, that contributes to candida as well.

Hi Fawn
Does the Dr. Ohira's probiotic need to be refridgerated?

Yes Jonika, I have.
I use it daily. I had a little wart on my thigh and have used tea tree oil on it, coconut oil, etc. and it never went away. When my husband began making the colloidal and I started taking it, the wart disappeared. It's pretty amazing stuff really.
