I had an up/down weekend. I've been holding at 3 tbls of CO and 3 tbls of ACV a day. I'm still itching something fierce. I've had moments of being so incredibly tired and almost nauseous, but then feeling great and full of energy. I'm down in weight too. I just don't know if it's *working*......the itching is killing me.

For all intents and purposes, my post sounds like it's working and I'm going through die off. I guess I'm just feeling uncertain.

I've discovered that if you put the Pau D'Arco tea in with another herbal tea - you don't taste it.

What does the Pau D'Arco tea do? Is it an anti-fungal also?

It's an anti-fungal. Bea recommends 4 cups a day. I try to get at least one, two max.

I found that when I started it, there was a bit of die-off, and it's now routien. To me though, it tastes a bit like dirt.

Should have bought the capsules. I'll finish my tea then find the capsules. Just not a tea drinker, don't know why I thought this would be different.

wannabe, there is something else going on here...

Have you read about the (over) use of antibiotics for ear infections?

Antibiotics for Ear Infection Treatment - DrGreene.com

Is it at all possible it can be treated without antibiotics? My DD9 gets 'ear pain' and some redness every time she goes swimming. I treat it with OTC stuff like Auralgan for the pain and it goes away in 24-36 hours. I have never treated it with antibiotics.

IMO I would not give my kids antibiotics unless it was a confirmed 'no other choice or she will go deaf' situation. MOST cases of ear infection will clear on their own, and anitbiotics only 'speed things up' like a day or two, and can make matters worse for next time.

I fear what is happening here is every time she gets an antibiotic it makes the bacteria more resistant and the infection will keep coming back and getting worse and harder to treat.

Read the link and IMO I would ask if you can see a specialist.

Thank you for the link (another great read!) I am going to be diligent with CO since I have been slacking and see if the problem does not clear up on its own.

I concur with this. My children's pediatrician feels the same way, shoot he goes to the lab to conduct the tests himself. He believes that we should keep them comfortable, plenty of fluids, vitamins, maybe something for pain, but antibiotics are a last resort with him.

I'm almost 7 days in to a course of AB's for a sinus infection and I'm not sure I'm going to be better by the time I'm done. I felt somewhat better after the 1st dosage of AB's and Zyrtec-D, but it's been iffy since then. My head is numb, my ears are still 'clogged' and hearing is muffled. I've also put some tea tree oil in my ear and even that doesn't seem to be helping. Freaking yeast!!!
I can't wait! My CO should be here Wednesday. I got my GSE in the mail today.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for how I might get this fluid out of my ears/head? My right ear is now losing hearing. Can I apply coconut oil into the ears? Do you think some GSE would help? My nose and cough feel much better, but I still sound congested and the noise and fullness in my ears, in addition to the lack of hearing, is really frustrating me. I want to try something, anything.

Have you tried a xylitol rinse with a neti pot yet?

Also, check here: Grapefruit Seed Extract GSE for Health

This is *probably* not going to clear up overnight. The plugged ears is a combination of fluid build up and inflammation of the inner ear, so it will need to be treated internally or through the nose/sinus area. This is why a neti pot rinse with xylitol is the best thing you can do right now.

It is going to take some time, did you ask for a perscription for diflucan when you got the antibiotics? If not, call your Doc and ask him to call one in for you.. even if you have to fudge and say you have diarrhea and a yeast infection. That will give you a head start on clearing up the yeast ESPECIALLY after a round of antibiotics.

Also, one more thing.. if you smoke, or are around someone who smokes, you should quit or stop being around the smoker. I mean it

I don't have a neti pot. Can't stomach the idea of using one. I did order a sinus rinse kit. Seems all the things I've ordered will be here tomorrow. Christmas early. lol.
I've put tea tree oil in the left ear, done saline spray, inhaled tea tree oil steam, ear manipulation while rotating jaw, yawning, that ear-popping thing where you blow out while holding mouth and nose closed - very gently as they say not to do it if you have an infection. After the saline and ear pulling w/ jaw/yawn thing I will say that my right ear is better.
I went and checked out the Diflucan. Not sure I can take that. I've shown kidney damage due to either the diabetes or the high blood pressure or both. I will ask, though. I was laughing at the description of related products - thinking 'can i just go buy a tube of monostat and put that in my ear' ROFL!
I do smoke, recently re-started, but get maybe one a week. Yeah .. I know... lol. My vices are killing me. Need to let go of the alcohol, smokes, junk food/sweets, probably the coffee as well as dairy, etc.
I know that the yeast cleanse will help. I can start in earnest Thursday if my EVCO does show up tomorrow. I know I need to attack this on all fronts, not just tip-toe around it. Not looking forward to die-off. That's stopped me in my tracks so many times...

I started the olive leaf extract today. It's the first one in a capsule.

Wish me luck.

brandNew, there is not going to be any miracle cure for the pluggedness at this point... I wish there was because I know how you are suffering right now.

I do not own a neti pot, but I use a bottle that came with a hair dye kit and it works just fine.

I was as skeptical as you are a year ago, until I was unable to breathe for about 3 weeks I finally gave in and tried it... it was a joke LOL I felt rather silly because it really is as simple as leaning over the sink.. the only difficult thing is trying to NOT watch in the mirror and getting water all over yourself LOL. it took a week of diligence but it cleared right up without a trip to the Docs.

Check out youtube

And diflucan is an antifungal so if you should not be taking it because of an underlying condition, you should not be taking any of the other antifungals as well without checking with your Doc.

It is one pill.. sometimes 2, and safe for children and infants and most do not have side effects.

Your Doc would know for sure, I would still ask him. I would also look into a smoking cessation program, if you are that serious about your health and sinuses.. this is not a joke. There is no magical pill or treatment, you have to find it within yourself to make some changes as well.

This is coming from an ex-smoker of 25 years as well as an ex-marijuana/alcohol/junk food abuser of a few decades as well, so I am not being glib.

This has been soooooo hard. I didn't think I was going to make it through the GSE, but I did. And in the process, discovered that my gut was inflamed, so I'm now taking L-Glutamine to help heal it, and help heal where the yeasties has poked through the lining of the walls.

I figure with an eight anti-fungal cycle for a couple of months, the yeast will be history!!!

I decided to go for the full-strength tea tree oil in my ears. Made the left one crazy. Itching, etc. Kept that up, did hot washcloths, etc. I actually got my ear to start popping/bubbling! It definitely hurts right now, but I'm very happy that something is happening. At this point, I'd take a rupture over no improvement. Going to keep this up and see how it goes. Will up my game tomorrow..

I am an allergy/sinusitis sufferer and just want to warn you-tea tree oil can damage your ears. You sound like your ear canals are inflamed due to your infection and the tree tree oil can cause irritation on already inflamed tissue. Sometimes the best treatment for your ears is to simply leave them alone. My ENT gives me an ear wash when I have problems after checking me out. If you haven't try an OTC antihistimine or decongestant to help with swelling and by all means go to a doc especially a good ENT.

I was desperate. I know the TTO can cause irritation. I'm on the last couple of days of an anti-biotic course as well as taking Zyrtec-D. Everything except the ears were improving w/ the AB's and Zyrtec-D. I have an appointment w/ an ENT, but not until December. Just trying my best for now. Thanks for caring.

Hello again! I have been missing reading this thread. It has been difficult to get internet time to read everything and I am missing out! I am wondering if there is anyone out there that would care to be an email buddy for support and sharing? It is much easier for me to check email quick than read all of the threads, though I do as much as possible. If so my email is chica_rubia_18 at yahoo. Thanks all!

Another quick question, does anyone have a way of taking in their ACV whilst hiding the flavor? I know many of you add it to tea, but I still can barely gag it down and I think the more I drink it, the more the gag reflex is going to take over. Thanks!

Can you sweeten it and add some cinammon? Maybe start with smaller amounts until you get used to the flavour? Or if you are finding it hard as a drink use it in cooking and dressings.

I totally sympathize. I had one ear plug up for a month and it drove me absolutely nuts. The ear inflammation is usually the last thing to get better. Hang in there!

Jecka, I had a lot of trouble with the ACV at first, too. I started off putting 1/2 T and then 1 T in a small amount of water and chugging it down, followed by a full glass of water. Then I tried 1/2 T in a full glass of water. My stomach hurt after I drank both of these. I didn't have any for a week, then read this thread and decided to go back to it. For some reason now I can have a full T in a glass with no problem; it doesn't taste bad and doesn't hurt my stomach. Maybe don't have it for a couple of days and then try it again?

Jecka,

I've had huge issues with ACV, and I haven't taken it in about a week. I can use it in other things, but I can't drink it - makes my upper stomach burn like I've been drinking pure everclear (not that I ever did such things way back in my college days).

For the past week I've been taking l-glutamine and using slippery elm capsules. Both seem to be helping since I haven't had a tummy ache in two weeks They were a regular thing after surgery two years ago.

Oh, and L-glutamine helps heal the gut where the candida punched through the lining of the intestines.
