This is a journal to help me learn LC tactics and to record LC success as 2007 draws to an end and 2008 looms large and hopeful ahead of me.

Wish me luck! Luck?

Ah, luck is the residue of design.

Found that in a fortune cookie, ages ago.

Fits into the LC mantra about how failing to plan is planning to fail. So my plans start out each day with a hot slosh of WPP+cocoa+espresso+VCO so that I start off feeling like a LC success. Yay, me!

Cacao ~ organic, raw powder ~ an exciting antioxidant

Posted 01-10-2008 at 06:09 PM by Zer

gillianmckeith.info/nutrition-cacao describes some of the benefits of cacao in a way that makes me glad I am using raw organic cacao as a part of my hot slosh (WPP+espresso+cacao with VCO melting as I stir it all into a frothy mix).

I just ordered more from a sustainable-resource source - mountainroseherbs.com - that strikes me as a great place to learn more about all sorts of herbs and oils and more. All of this is just part of my education in LC living and learning about zillions of things I never knew as I wallowed in carbs and was always 'hungry' for a quality of nutrition...

FlyLady? Body Clutter?

Posted 01-10-2008 at 04:05 AM by Zer
Found this as I was cruising, just now, looking for inspiration for today:
Quote:
I am using Flylady's Body Clutter advice and weighing myself first thing every morning.
Posting is from 2006 - but it works for me. I'm used to being a slow starter, to catching on late. So, I'm off to check into a site that I've visited before, a site that inspires me to start off the day tying my shoes on and shining my sink. I know FlyLady works, when I work at it ...er, her... uh, ME! I'm a FlyBaby (sorta)! Just got overwhelmed when I last visited the site.

But I really DO have a better day when I...

On living life spherically, in many directions...

Posted 01-08-2008 at 11:00 PM by Zer
Been watching "Under the Tuscan Sun" to help find balance - in Tuscany's light, colors, pace.

Some advice from an exotic character in the film may work for me. She is a flamboyant woman (of a certain age, as the French say) who says she was a protegée of Federico Fellini from an early age. Her childish enthusiasm is what Fellini remarked on - and part of what she recommends as a way of living life spherically, in many directions, so that adventures are drawn into one's life. Sounds like fun to me!

As I venture to change how I live, I am open to suggestions...

Thank you for any and all feedback here - on my Weight Loss JOURNAL at http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/we...om-health.html - as I reflect in this BLOG about the tools and skills I'm learning on LC boards to help me achieve my goal weight and my health goals.

Ethical eating ~ moderately meaty meals

Posted 01-06-2008 at 07:50 AM by Zer
The older I get, the more difficult it is to eat food that brings to mind faces of creatures I've gotten to know (slightly) as friendly cows and pigs who suffer in feedlots and slaughterhouses. Faceless flesh like ground beef and pork is less difficult - but even that sometimes makes me pause.

Faceless creatures like fish and fowl are easier to chow down on, seem to digest more easily. ALGittleman warns that chicken offers a digestive challenge to Type B bloodtypes, so I dodge chicken in favor of turkey and other fowl.

Radio this morning announced that 2008 is a...
