FORTY POUNDS GONE!

I was officially down 40.10 pounds this morning! I am so freakin excited!

I just want to share the most personal thing about this milestone. My dad gave me my grandmothers ring (she passed when he was young). I could never wear it because she was a small woman, so it didn't fit. Now, it fits. I was teary when I tried it on.......

Bought new shorts! Several sizes smaller!

I had to buy shorts for the summer, and I went shopping at Lane Bryant. I was in a 24 in some clothes before I started. Now I am wearing a size 18! WooHoo!!!

Almost 40 lbs!

I can't believe it, but I have lost almost 40 lbs! 39 to be exact! I can't believe how much I have lost in such a short time! Since the end of April!

Back from vacation

So I have been on a diet "break" for the last 2 weeks. I am REALLY pleased that I didn't gain any weight! I was still really careful with my food, but I did drink a lot, and eat chocolate, and make lasagna.....But I am back home and back in the LC WOE.

My next goal is to hit the 230's by the 22 of July (when MIL will be in town). I am 243 right now, and I would love to do 10 lbs in the next two weeks. I am really excited!

Fat has more energy yeild than Carbs or Protein

I am taking nutrition as a pre-req for nursing school, and we are learning about energy yeilds of different foods, and FAT (butter, oils, etc) yeilds 9 kilocalories per gram, while Protein and Carbs (both!) only yeild 4 kilocalories per gram!

If you are counting calories, then you would think about cutting the fat so you would be ingesting fewer calories. BUT if you are trying to keep your energy up while you are losng weight, then you NEED ENERGY DENSE FOODS!

SOOOO, why tell people to cut the fat in their diet?? The would need to eat MORE to meet their energy needs!...
