Day 5

Not doing so well today, but not because of lowcarbing.
Last night I developed a headache and even though I've been taking headache pills (over the counter) throughout the night and this morning, the headache has developed into a migraine. Right now it's not super bad, so I can still concentrate a little, but I'm only hoping it will either go away or not get worse. But this morning it was bad enough for me to call and cancel the appointment I had for a bone density text.
I don't think this is because of going back to lowcarb, as I've had this same thing for the past few weekends. I think it's probably more due to PMS
.
Yesterday's menu:
1 egg + 1 egg white sauted in butter with zucchini, green onion, and a dash of salsa
1 cup plain yogurt with SF maple syrup, xylitol, 1/2 cup Fiber One
Coffee with half and half
Veggie crumble sauted in olive oil with asparagus, mushrooms, a dash of soy sauce and lime
Protein Shake
Salad with red pepper, red onion, olives, feta cheese, in a homemade vinigrette
Nondairy lowcarb fudge
Water: 11 glasses
Exercise: 20 minutes resistance; 90 minute walk; 40 minutes yoga

I too get horrible headaches. My Dr perscribed Midrin which doesnt make me feel groggy but sure kicks a headaches butt. If I take one at the first sign of a bad headache it never gets to a migraine. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much for the comment, ceceee. I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor and getting medication, as I've heard that much of the migraine meds cause some terrible side effects, such as nausea. I'd rather cope with it on my own. However, I know when I get to menopause, I might have no choice, as my mom is menopausal and suffers from such bad migraines at times that she needs to be rushed to the ER to get a shot. Not looking forward to that
.The migraine did go away eventually in the evening and this morning I am migraine free (but TOM cramps have come in its place - fun, fun, fun - sometimes I hate being a woman )Tam |
