TOM

Posted 02-18-2008 at 05:35 AM by squeakie
Well it's been stuck at a hair over 55 Kg (around 121 lbs) for a couple days but I think that is because TOM has reared its ugly head (first thing this morning! ). I'm just going to wait it out and not change anything with my eating yet, and see what happens over the next few days. TOM usually causes a little gain for me then it comes back off. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is not FAT, it is probably just WATER.

On a positive note, I am actually noticing a difference in my face and other parts of the body from the loss of weight. Because this loss is much...

CARB COUNTING - Duh!!

Posted 02-12-2008 at 04:41 AM by squeakie
It SEEMS that over the past few days I MAY have found the stall-breaker and it turns out to be the most obvious thing. CARBS. Duh! Since maybe Saturday, I have been slowly but very steadily losing again, all because I actually really counted how many carbs I was having - and realized it was too many. I have now cut way back to no more than 20 per day. Previously I was having anywhere between 30 and 50 (sometimes even more) per day. Fitday was a big help.

I still have no idea why I lost so fast the first week, because in that week I was still having too many carbs. Well, I guess...

frustrated and wanting to do stupid things

Posted 02-07-2008 at 05:27 AM by squeakie
Well I'm teetering on the edge of I QUIT! and even as bad as "hmmm what about that Kimkins diet"... even though I just got through telling others NOT to do that diet. My obsession with diet and weight sometimes overtakes my life. Sometimes it's all I can think about and sometimes I really think I'm going over the edge.

And why am I suddenly sounding so desperate and pathetic? Because I'm stalled. I did great the first week and now everything has come to a screeching halt. I wish my stupid body knew that I wasn't starving it - if I was starving it, I would be dead already....

It's been exactly just one week since I started and I've lost 6 lbs. That is far more than I expected! I am thinking this rate of loss will probably slow down, but as long as I can still lose at least 2 lbs per week then I still consider it a huge success.

I read somewhere that it doesn't really matter how many calories you have in a whole day, but rather how many you have at each meal. I wonder how true this is.

First progress in a while

I've been on and off different variations of low carb dieting for years now. I've always lost the weight, but eventually always gain it back. So, this is yet another try to shed those pesky 20 lbs that don't seem to want to stay away.

I'm trying a new variation on my previous eating plans because the last time I went on my regular low carb plan, it took a whole year to lose just 30 lbs, which in my book is way way too long. This still is somewhat low-carb but not exactly. I'm still completely cutting out the following: white breads, pasta, rice, all sweets/candies, potatoes and...
