I have learned that my addiction affects me physically, Mentally, and Spiritually. So I know I need to be working on those three areas every day to become well. (better than well)

This will be my blog about my journey to those lands.

Can you say Blowhard?

Posted 07-31-2008 at 09:54 AM by slimdays
The trainer that was supposed to show me how to do the 30 minute express (curves) was just full of himself. I had to listen to how wonderful he was for an hour and then he showed me how to do cardio on the recumbant bike. I did find that useful but not his bloviating.
The next time he got down to business but I was really hurting after he showed me some more machines.

I am done with him. I am just going to use what he did teach me and carry on like I was. I don't need personal training even if it is free.

Heel injury

Posted 07-28-2008 at 02:02 PM by slimdays
I cut the back of my heel up on the edge of a cement brick we were using for temporary stairs at the cottage. Hubby tore up the old porch that needed replacing. Pretty soon we will be building a new porch.

So I signed up for some free training at the gym. My trainer has shown me how to use other machines that will not put pressure on my heel. I am learning new things.

It could have been an excuse to stop exercising completely but I was not going to let that happen. I have come too far.

One more post

I got a postcard today in the mail from my leader. It was a congrats for getting thru vacation and the wedding and so on and still losing. That brought a smile to my face.

It was nice to go home to wi this week. I will go to the meeting in Plymouth but it is not the one I prefer. It is just where I will get weighed and be held accountable.

I got bogged down with a lot of stuff that had to be done on the computer while I was home. I have a new camera with new accessories so it was a learning process when I really didn't want one but I survived. Hubby even...

I got weighed in at my home meeting today. I lost 2.2 !!! I am so pleased with that. I know the exercise has really been the catalyst for my losses. I seem to workout harder at the gym. Maybe it is the other people also working out hard or maybe it is the machines are better than mine at home but I am walking longer and faster on their machines. I will get to see how mine is in comparison today.

The gym I go to has people of all ages and stages. I like that. I can see many people my age there. It is a comfortable place. A lot of machines of all kinds. So far I have only...

continuing on

Posted 07-15-2008 at 01:05 PM by slimdays
I am continuing to lose weight and I feel I have made the transition to the cottage without a hitch. I survived our one week vacation and a fancy wedding and a wedding brunch and still lost weight.

I am feeling really happy about the successful transition. I got to the gym about 5-6 days a week. I feel the work I am doing there has really made the difference at the cottage. I am not good about walking during the heat. So the gym was the right idea.
