I have learned that my addiction affects me physically, Mentally, and Spiritually. So I know I need to be working on those three areas every day to become well. (better than well)

This will be my blog about my journey to those lands.

So my family likes to eat at this seafood restaurant in Plymouth, Massachusetts where we have our summer place. I have eaten there for years. I love the seafood platter. My husband and I usually share a platter for two and some onion rings.

I am not ready to give this up. My plan at the moment is to eat there on the night of my weigh in or at least the next day. The problem with that plan is that my family (hubby, son,so, and granddaughter will want to eat there on the weekends. That is when we are at our summer place in the spring. On the weekends.

So I need to figure out what I am going to do. I know going with them would not work for me. I am not having something healthy while they are pigging out on my favorite meal. NOT!

I can stay behind at camp while they go to eat out. Or go shopping at Super Walmart while they go to eat. It might have to be one of those.

Hubby understands and is willing to go there during the week with me but that does not solve my problem of when they want to go on the weekend.

Like this Sunday... They are talking about going down to rake leaves and open up our places. We always do that around this time. We do not cook there. We just work all day and then end up at the Lobster Hut.

Mother's Day is also another traditional day that we eat there.

Years ago when WW's was a lot stricter I used to end up going off the plan with fried seafood and screw around all summer. I cannot afford to do that now.

In the WW meeting this week I brought this whole subject up. I was very clear with the group and the leader that I was not ready to order anything else when I eat there. I was only willing to change the day I eat it. Then I committed to eating less of it. We can order a platter for one instead of two. There is plenty of food to share even on the platter for one.

This is where the living it rather than dieting comes into play. I believe I can be inventive enuf to have a few meals at my favorite restaurant this summer and continue to lose weight. That is my goal anyway. ]

How about if you eat ½ of what you usually do? Split the platter with DH, but on your own small plate. When the plate is empty you're done.......slip water w/lemon until everyone else is done.

You shouldnt have to give up the tradition.....just look at it a different way.

Good luck !!
