I have learned that my addiction affects me physically, Mentally, and Spiritually. So I know I need to be working on those three areas every day to become well. (better than well)

This will be my blog about my journey to those lands.

Some more of my story

I am a lifetime member of WW's. I achieved that status way back in 1973. Since then I have come back three times. This is the third and last time for me.

In between I tried Atkins in 2000-2003. I liked eating all the foods that have been taboo to me for so long. I did quite well in the beginning. I lost 30 pounds in 3 months. But I found it hard to stay away from the high carb stuff completely eventually.

Needless to say I gained it all back and then some. I have been not doing much about my weight for the past 2-3 years. I hated myself but I did not have one inkling of motivation.

Read my previous blog to see what finally did happen to me regarding motivation. It's a God thing.

I am doing the flex plan at WW's. I love it. I can have whatever I want as long as I am willing to count the points for it. And of course I have learned that it is better to eat some things reather than others.

WW's has an option plan now too. It is called the Core plan. This plan is bare bones and healthy foods. No bread. We are allowed to switch as long as it is the beginning of a new week. I have not opted to do that yet. I think I will save Core for a time when I need to get out of a plateau or something like that.

I just feel that nothing is a problem with this plan because it is so flexible. I already know how I will incorporate my favorite fried seafood this summer. It is not forbidden food. Nothing is. With limits and careful eating around it I can have that treat once a month or so.
