Today is Friday and I've been having a difficult week...and overall a difficul time losing weight. First of all, I ate half of a Carrot Cake....but was on plan prior to that eating Whitecastle Pie...but that seemed to be a lot of calories...and cheese! When I was on Atkins I stuck to it but I was tired all of the time and I was eating a lot of fat, but especially a lost of cheese.... I've been reading a lot of diets on this forum trying to figure out just what is right for me... I like CAD and lost initially 5 pounds, but nothing after that. Then I started cycling and kept gaining and losing the same 5 pounds... Then went to South Beach and lost that 5 pounds in a two week period and nothing since....that was around August 9th...
Based on what I know for sure, I know that when I switch diets I lose weight initially that week but afterwards nothing. So that is telling me that I need to switch things up to continue losing, however, that could simply mean adding in some good carbs and not switching plans...
Plans that I am considering are Eat Fat Get Thin, Barry Groves, and Suzanne Sommers, Sommercize Program....
Today Fawn suggested that following these guidelines would result in a good weight loss program....
A solid weight loss plan that most will not have any problems losing on would include:
animal proteins including eggs and fish
coconut oil
olive oil
butter
vegetables all other than root veggies and corn
avocado
Now that's pretty boring but it's a guaranteed weight loss plan.
Great Motivation...

I found this post interesting because I find I do psych myself out a great deal. I look at other peoples progress and see that I stuck with Atkins for 3 months, on plan, and only lost 4 pounds... Talk about frustrating....and today I just lost control!
I think I just need veggies in my life and I need to eat three portions a day and stick with that....and my protein of course. I find that I am still constipated on low carb and that just does not seem natural to me, and honestly, I hate using supplements to assist in that process.
I also think that the the 10,10,10 carb rule is a good one...which I might follow after two weeks of induction type eating...slowly adding carbs back...occasionally fruit, occasionally yogurt, and nonprocessed oats... Those are the things that I miss on induction eating, which is what I did for 3 months... So perhaps it wasn't Atkins problem after all, perhaps it simply was me not following the OWL.... If this is going to be a way of life, then I need to treat it as such so that I can enjoy it! But at any rate, Sunday I will start Eat Fat Get Thin and get more veggies in my life...
In regards to South Beach, my only problem with the plan is lower fat eating...I feel like those are processed foods, other than that I enjoyed the plan. I was never hungry and tried different recipes.... Also, I don't like having to eat 5 times a day because it puts my focus on food, when is the next meal... If I eat when I'm hungry, it takes the pressure off, but I do need to have food options available so that when I am hungry there is something healthy available to eat...
