Well slice me open and call me a tater.

I have made the final decision for the incision, I am going to have gastric bypass surgery.
I have teetered back and forth about this for a while now, and I have always thought this as taking the easy way out. I have always wanted to lose it with sheer willpower, exercise and diet so I could brag on myself "look what I accomplished" but I also have just wanted to be healthy, and this is simply a tool to accomplish that. You can chop down the trees and hand hewn the logs or you can buy lumber at the Home Depot, in the end you still have a house, right?
I will still be on...

Trouble

Posted 06-25-2008 at 07:51 AM by Sam
Te weight loss continues but the blood pressure is high.
I am having an extensive blood profile done to see what's up. Never had a problem with blood pressure before. We'll see on Friday.
So far the loss has been 30 pounds, not exactly breaking any records but a good loss for two months.

Southbound

Back to the doctor today and I have dropped 12 more. This is easy, almost too easy. Maybe this is the Golden shot or whatever it is everyone talks about. The first time someone loses on a low carb diet is supposed to be the easiest, then if they gain it back it's supposed to be much more difficult the second time around. But, evidently, if you screw it up the first time then the second time around is gold.
My diet has not changed much, eggs and sausage for breakfast, usually two medium sized hamburger patties with cheese and some sort of vegetable or a small salad for lunch. Supper is more...

Sam's 30 Day Atkins Blog

Week three has past. No signs of feeling bad, energy as advertised, another notch on the belt up.
I found out today that heavy people and Nike "Air" athletic shoes are not a good combination. See, they have this little air-filled pocket that is designed to give you cushion as you walk and it works well unless you mash it too much and it eventually blows out. Today I heard a faint "pop" in my right shoe, and a slight difference in the way it felt. Instead of acting like a tire and just blowing out and staying flat it managed to re-inflate each time I lifted my right...
