Week three has past. No signs of feeling bad, energy as advertised, another notch on the belt up.
I found out today that heavy people and Nike "Air" athletic shoes are not a good combination. See, they have this little air-filled pocket that is designed to give you cushion as you walk and it works well unless you mash it too much and it eventually blows out. Today I heard a faint "pop" in my right shoe, and a slight difference in the way it felt. Instead of acting like a tire and just blowing out and staying flat it managed to re-inflate each time I lifted my right...

Week two has gone by and things keep getting better. I have no trace of feeling bad, I am sleeping better, I do have more energy, and the belt has been taken up a notch.
The only problem I have is boredom with the food choices. I am way too lazy to attempt the pseudo gourmet dishes presented in low carb cookbooks. Who on Earth but Martha Stewart has Capers just lying around? I am also too cheap to buy steaks and chops so I guess I will continue shopping at the local discount grocery store and Wally World. Egg and cheese omelet and sausage for breakfast, burger patties and a veggie for...

Well, week one has gone by with ease. The sick and tired feelings I have had are past me now and I feel back to normal. I was expecting a huge rush of energy, but it has been a slow, gradual increase. Monday I went back to the weight clinic for a refill of my "legal speed" and a weigh-in and was surprised to find out I had dropped 14 pounds. It has been a month since I last weighed there and some of that could have come off before I started Atkins, but I really didn't do much in the way of diet or exercise until I started the diet on the 4th week. If I have that much of a loss next month...

Not much to add today except I am really kind of lost as far as side dishes go. Before a side dish was included in every meal but now it's more like a cup of salad at lunch or some Broc/Cauli. Strange. I am not sure I am over the "Atkins Flu" yet but I did feel a spike in my energy level and amazed myself at the physical labor I was able to accomplish today, Something that would have definately included some rest breaks last week was accomplished in one extended affort today. May not sound like much but coming from having to find a place to rest in the back of WalMart because I was eahausted...

Day one has come and gone and "the flu" is decending upon me like thunderclouds rolling across the sky in the evening. I guess as I burn up the stored glucose and the change in fuel occurs the heavy headedness and brain fog creeps in. I truely hope it goes by quickly.
I am keeping a Fitday journal and I welcome comments and suggestions check it out here...
