Well, week one has gone by with ease. The sick and tired feelings I have had are past me now and I feel back to normal. I was expecting a huge rush of energy, but it has been a slow, gradual increase. Monday I went back to the weight clinic for a refill of my "legal speed" and a weigh-in and was surprised to find out I had dropped 14 pounds. It has been a month since I last weighed there and some of that could have come off before I started Atkins, but I really didn't do much in the way of diet or exercise until I started the diet on the 4th week. If I have that much of a loss next month I will be stoked.
I am working towards having Gastric bypass surgery (WLS) in the Fall. My health insurance requires I be on a six month doctor supervised diet and I must lose 10% of my excess weight to qualify. I am well on my way.

Maybe you'll find in 6 months that you've had a change of heart for the surgery!!! I'm hoping that in a year, I'll be 100 lbs lighter!! Maybe wishful thinking, but I'm gunhoe on the idea!!! Lets team together and kiss our flab goodbye!
