Loving One Another is Not an Option

I spoke about this yesterday, but that emotion is felt today more than ever. Steve Harvey's show was dedicated to the anniversary death of Martin Luther King Jr. That man did not have to die. He children never got the chance to know him like they should have. His wife had to go on raising those babies without his help which is not right. His death has never affected me before as it has hearing all of his speeches this morning. And his last speech in Memphis, was chilling. Like they say it was almost as if he was reading his wn eulogy. And you could hear the sorrow in his voice. That after all his marches and speeches for what was right for all, it didn't stop the imprisonments, beatings, and death threats! They were getting worse. How can someone hate another THAT much??? It saddens me. We have to teach our children to LOVE!! Agape Love!! Love for one another just as Gods loves us unconditionally. It is not a choice we have to make. It is a commandment. ~Matthew 19:19

Wow Marlette,

My cousin said the same about his voice during that speech and the fact that he may have known what was about to happen (his death).

YES, we must teach our children to love, and also we must practice that as well.

I had a little episode with this woman at Marshalls about two weeks ago. She was a nice looking white woman, and she was trying on shoes. The shoes she tried on were so cute on her feet, I had to tell her how nice they looked. She didn't reply, which was ok, so I figured that she didn't hear me. I said it again, and she quickly grabbed her shoes and went to another section to try them on?? The lady next to me said, "weren't you talking to her, and I replied yes". The other lady was so upset with what had happened and she was like what the heck, she was so rude. I took it as the lady was just one of those people that may have a complex with African American people. I just don't know these days girl. BUT one thing I did do was pray for her.

That's all we can do Lyn. You did what was right. I have listened to comments on Obama's speech last month, and I am with them. It is amazing that after 40 years we are still having issues with race relations. *smh*
