December wrap-up

Posted 12-21-2008 at 02:48 AM by RW City Sue
Hmmm...what can I say about this past month? Not on track with my weight goals for starters. I have become convinced to try a different approach to food choices by aiming to eat 50-70% fat, 20-30% protein, and 10-15% carb ratios. It has been sort of interesting so far in the last couple days to find foods higher in fat than protein. Carb cravings are fading, energy levels are improving, and blood sugar is better which encourages me that I am on the right track for now. And that's where I am this December 2008.

November check-in

Posted 11-21-2008 at 05:02 AM by RW City Sue
Well, I am not so happy with the way November has gone for me as far as weight loss. I have had way too many problems with food choices and out of control eating. So needless to say, weight has been yo-yoing.

I am trying to return to basics to stabilize--like drinking more water and having some healthy smoothies and more greens.

I will say that I have been getting in more exercise, though, especially this week and I am looking to organize myself around the exercise each day.

Intentions for November

Posted 11-01-2008 at 11:24 PM by RW City Sue
It is November already--time for me to really buckle down and see what I can accomplish before the end of the year. It seems like I naturally seem to fall into 3 month cycles and I am entering my 4th month now of IF.

I seem to be needing some new strategies to get the scale moving again. So, one of my commitments this month will be to increase exercise.

My plan is to add more mall walking, more dancing, and put in more time at the gym in November. And so it is.

Half way to goal

Posted 10-20-2008 at 03:45 PM by RW City Sue
I just realized last nite that I am half way (down 62 lbs) from my highest weight, with about 58 more lbs to go to a goal of 160. Once I get some of my more pressing projects checked off my to-do lists, I am going to see about getting some progress pics posted here to have a record of my journey.

I was at my top weight in 1996--280, lost down to 189 in 1997, gained back up to 260 in 1998... Whew, wears me out just writing about it... Then I yo-yo'd between 240's-250's for most of the last decade, with the exception of 2005 when I was back in the Midwest to take care of my Mom...

Fat fix

Posted 10-19-2008 at 12:51 PM by RW City Sue
I was sitting here putting together a grocery list for when I go out later and it dawned on me that the chocolate cravings that have been nagging me all week started kicking in about the time I decided to cut back on using heavy cream, which I was eating pretty much daily. I was hoping to cut down on the amount of calories I was eating but my body is definitely looking for a fat fix.

This last week, I ate more olives than usual and had co pudding from Whole Foods. I am hungry today for some nuts, which I've cut back on the last week or so also. Guess it is time to up the amts...
