Today, my mother's cardiologist told her to go on the Diabetes Diet to lose weight. She asked me to look it up on the Internet for her so she can start. I love my mother so I looked it up. The website says her diet should be 60 percent carbs. I do all the cooking for her. I love my mother so I will be cooking lots of carbs. ARRRGGHHHH. OK I feel better now. I have tried to get her to low carb and she eats low carb OK, but then eats every carb in the house as well and ends up gaining a ton of weight. Bad plan, bad plan, very scary. Carbo Mojo

Weighed myself today and I am down a half a pound since Friday. Not bad. Not a million pounds. Not a whoosh. But not a gain. And better yet when I got on it the scale did not scream “ONE AT A TIME! ONE AT A TIME!” especially since I was weighing myself at work! So it is all good.

No exercise today, I came home from work and took a 20-minute nap! I felt like I had been run over by a bus. I think I might be having late effect carb withdrawal? So today I ate some extra legal veggies. I am taking a multi and fish oil with every meal.

Good eating today:

B: Protein Bar And Coffee ˝ Decaf with heavy cream and Splenda
Lunch: Tuna Salad with olives (do olives count as a veggie?)
S: Almonds and Herbal Tea
D: Lamb Chops and Cauliflower and a Glass of White Wine

Dessert: Cup of tea with a slash of real live milk (shush don’t tell anyone!) and splenda
And of course water

Not enough veggies today. Bought more spinach at the store today will have a big salad tomorrow. I’ll just pretend I’m one of my skinny friends. Or better yet …. Put bacon on it!

Weekend

Well my first attempt at meditation on Saturday ended up with me falling asleep! I got a little too relaxed that time. Today it went a little better made it to about 7 minutes vs. 10 as a neighbor had started up a lawn mower and my karma got tangled up with my chakras or something and I couldn’t seem to concentrate. I focused on gratitude and my “mantra” was ‘thank you’. I’ve just started reading about rewiring your brain for happiness and positive feelings and one of the keys is gratitude. I thought I’d use my mediation time to rewire my brain for more joy.
Typical American— multitasking...

That's a hoot.
First I sat in Orlando style morning traffic.

Then I dragged folks through a meeting they didn't want to attend (it's a bad sign when the person sitting next to you is banging their head on the table and you are the person running the meeting)
Then I treated patients THAT was fun. Really, I'm not being sarcastic I love treating patients I just don't get to do it much anymore.
Then paperwork. Then a phone meeting WHILE doing paperwork.
Then a commute back home with more bumper to bumper traffic all the way.... (Hakuna...
