Goals

I don't think I've ever recorded my goals for this journey, so I'll go ahead and jot them down just to come back to later.

Initially when I started in March '08 at 354 lbs, I had a goal of getting to 300 lbs by May '08. That turned out to be pretty unrealistic.

I know you're sposed to set small goals for yourself as you go along so that you don't get lost b/c your ultimate goal is so far off and you lost heart.

So, with that in mind, I am currently at 325 and my goals are as follows:

minigoal: get with the program and start getting healthier...

Getting close to a previous low

Posted 06-04-2008 at 05:22 AM by roamer723
The last time I tried to lose weight was from April-Aug of 2006.

Back then I started at 360 and got down to 323.4 for a loss of 36.6 lbs.

I am currently at 327 for a loss of 27.4 lbs right now. less than 4 more lbs and I'll the the lowest I've been in years.

Football season and holidays did me in last time.

MOTIVATION

This football season, I'll be armed with a different way of eating, and the planning. I've already recognized that football season will be a problem and I'm developing the mindset to not go hogwild on food and...

11 Week Update

Posted 06-03-2008 at 05:08 AM by roamer723

328.4

still making downward progress which is excellent. Surprised to see any loss at all after my diet this past weekend. I can do fine during the workweek when I pack my breakfast and lunch which are on plan, but when the weekend comes, sometimes it gets really hard to stay on.

So, 11 weeks, 26 pounds, 2.36lb/wk average. Not too bad. Still, wish it was coming off faster, but gotta remember the booze is slowing it down, and the biking is adding lean muscle. 21 days now biking to work 7 miles a day.

I am not displeased.

Small milestone biking today

Posted 06-02-2008 at 05:21 AM by roamer723
Today is the 20th day I've biked to work since April 10. Just a nice round number to take note of. I've also been biking more than just to work. Sometimes on the weekend I'll go for a little jaunt, or sometimes coming home in the evening I'll go a different longer way.

I drive a 5.3L V8 Chevy Silverado

140 miles gone
9.33 gallons of gas saved
$36.66 saved

I was watching the Tour de France once when Lance was on his 6th or 7th straight victory and he's sitting there on his bike leading a pack and he's conducting an interview like it's nothing....

pbbbbbbttttt.....Week 10 Update

Posted 05-27-2008 at 05:22 AM by roamer723
well, it's my own fault, so I won't whine too much, but I could have done better.

kind of went waaayyyy off plan this past holiday weekend. Was down to 328 before the start of the weekend, and weighed in today at 331.2, that's 23.2 lbs in 2 1/2 months.

Again, I could do better if I actually followed the rules better, but I don't so I'll just accept that. Still lots of work to do, but the lbs seem to be coming off at an average of 2 per week'ish and that's not too bad.

went for a fairly strenuous bike ride sunday afternoon. Was an off road trail through...
