Blowing by Construction Traffic

Posted 05-02-2008 at 06:10 AM by roamer723
on my bike.

God it's funny. There's an intersection near where I live that is under heavy heavy construction right now. I used to drive thru it 4 times a day, going to work, then home for lunch, then back and again.

Now that I bike I follow that route for a little while until I turn off and cut through a shopping center. But, before I turn off, in the evenings during rush hour traffic gets backed up there for at least a quarter mile by the time I get there biking home from work.

I just blow right by all of them sitting in their cars, waiting for the light...

oy.

no change in the scale from last week. Still sitting at 340.2.

today is the 10th day I have biked to work of a possible 12 since April 10. not too shabby. the biking is continually getting easier, and I vary my route as much as possible. And that pretty much only consists of going through the same neigborhood different ways.

the drinking is still too much, and prolly stalling me. don't know how to stop. All day I sit and tell myself not to drink that night, but once I get home and we get the kids settled and down, I just don't care and do it anyway....

Then I got to talking to this guy at work today. He's biked from the atlantic to the gulf across the state of florida. How fanfreakincool would that be? I have got a long way to go to be able to do something like that. It's a 140-160'ish mile ride done in one day. he went...
