took the long way home

I decided to get motivated biking home last night, so instead of my normal 3.5 mile route home, after the 3.5 miles in the morning I went a more grandiose route that ended up being 8 miles according to Google Maps. God I love Google Maps.

Anyway, it was a great ride, and I rode in again this morning with no big deal. It's really astounding what your body will adjust to. rode 4 days this week, missed tuesday b/c of errands, but all that, then the long way home last night, and this morning my legs feel a little tired, but still no big deal.

only thing I didn't like about...

Week 12 Update

That's 32.6 lbs gone, and about 16 for the last four weeks. Wow, that's my best so far. First 4 wks was 9, then 2nd was 7, now 16. daaaaayumn.

9.2% of starting weight gone. 29.35% will get me to goal at 250.

must be doing something right. Also, blew by a previous record low of 323 like it was nothing. was kind of worried I'd have a mental block, but wasn't a problem. hopefully I won't have a mental block now that i'm past it.

rage on.

Previous record low passed!

was 321.2 this morning. That's 33.2 lbs lost and beats my previous record of 323 by a couple lbs. yes!

Back in '06 I lost about 40 lbs and the lowest I ever got to was about 323. But, it took forever too b/c it was like I hit a wall when I got into the 320's last time. Not this time. Progress has been steady.

just feels so damn good to have it come off and completely blow by my previous low like it was nothing. I was really worried I'd have some kind of stall or mental block and not be able to get by it.

I've been weighing...

Goals

I don't think I've ever recorded my goals for this journey, so I'll go ahead and jot them down just to come back to later.

Initially when I started in March '08 at 354 lbs, I had a goal of getting to 300 lbs by May '08. That turned out to be pretty unrealistic.

I know you're sposed to set small goals for yourself as you go along so that you don't get lost b/c your ultimate goal is so far off and you lost heart.

So, with that in mind, I am currently at 325 and my goals are as follows:

minigoal: get with the program and start getting healthier...

Getting close to a previous low

The last time I tried to lose weight was from April-Aug of 2006.

Back then I started at 360 and got down to 323.4 for a loss of 36.6 lbs.

I am currently at 327 for a loss of 27.4 lbs right now. less than 4 more lbs and I'll the the lowest I've been in years.

Football season and holidays did me in last time.

MOTIVATION

This football season, I'll be armed with a different way of eating, and the planning. I've already recognized that football season will be a problem and I'm developing the mindset to not go hogwild on food and...
