I am a ROCKSTAR
In the shade
I went to Pinelawn today. It was the hottest day of the year so far. I stopped by the office to see where Steve's plot is located. The lady was very nice and compassionate.
It was a quick drive to Freedom Drive....less than 5 minutes. The grounds are immaculate.
I parked my car in what I thought was the general area.....followed the map. I walked around for a good 30 minutes and couldnt find him. Then, a nice man came by who worked there and helped me out. I can't believe I was parked less than 10 feet away and I couldnt find him. He said I have "good direction and could read a map". I thanked him. I felt so silly being lost. What really stuck me is that I took a closer look at the man he resembled Steve. When he got back into his truck & drove way, I lost it. Tears streaming down my face at such a quick rate I couldn't stop them.
Steve has a beautiful plot.......under a tree with shade. There's a big evergreen about 100 ft behind him........will certainly look nice in the winter time covered in snow.
I took a small rock from his grave....the dirt is still fresh and put his initials on it. The rock is in my garden.
I left him a nickel.
Thank you everyone for your kind words in my blog during this difficult time. I truly appreciate it.

Do you think Steve was looking down from heaven and smiling to see you wondering around looking for him? I truly believe our loved ones are able to visit us. I know it is hard, but try to take comfort in the thought that Steve is in a truly wonderful place.
