SJT 09/18/65 - 05/26/08

At 12:03, Monday afternoon, my heart stopped.

I received a call from the wife of a long time friend. He has been battling cancer for the past 3 years.

Steve passed away a week ago on Memorial Day, in his sleep. There was no obit, no call, nothing. I didnt get get pay my respects to the family and say good bye. I feel like I'm in limbo.

I had seen Steve in January. It was the first "Liquid Lunch" I ever had. We shared some laughs and stories of when we were kids. After that, we kept in touch over the phone. He spent a few weeks in the hospital on-and-off for pain management. He recently stopped chemo after 5 treatments (2nd round) when the doctors told him there was no improvement.

His wife said it was sudden.....no way did they think he would be gone so soon.

No matter what he was going thru he always made it a point to make me smile....whether it was to joke about my daily shopping trips (guys just dont understand) or to remind me how precious life was.

So.....now I wear sunscreen when in the sun, and play "Against All Odds" on my ipod when I start my walk each day.

He will be missed.......he certainly left an impression on me.

He has 2 sons.....Steven (11) and Daniel (7)
