How often to weigh?

I made it up on time this morning. Coffee is calling me. I stepped on the scale and it said up . 4 pds. I am not sure how that is possible. I know I ate less then 1200 cals yesterday and the only carbs I had were a salad, some broccoli and the ice tea. Hummm, that may have done it. The ice tea was sweetened with sugar. I used to believe in weighing every day. Then I read some research that suggests weighing every week because of little fluctuations each day, then different research suggests weighing every day again in order to monitor your weight more accurately. As of this am, I can see the advantage to only weighing once a week. This has left me slightly discouraged. I don't understand how I gained weight and did not cheat
OH well, I will do my best again today and see where it leads and I will not step on the scale again untill Sunday.

Yes, water weight fluctuations are normal, and if they discourage you, I would say you should only weigh in once a week. That is what I do, because the ups and downs drive me crazy! That said... iced tea sweetened with SUGAR is not induction-friendly in the least. Remember Dr. A says on this "diet", the "one little taste" is the kiss of death! You will get kicked out of ketosis and stop burning fat if you are sensitive to sugars and carbs. It's a SETBACK, can cause water to be retained, and a return of cravings. If you did go out of ketosis, it might take two days to get back in. I don't want to discourage you, so sorry if this does, but I just know how SERIOUS one little tablespoon of sugar is to me. lol
PS I think the advantages of weighing every single day are more for those who are trying to maintain a weight loss, not those that are losing. JMHO. ![]() |
