Clean Slate in 2008!

I've been on and off LCF for several years, returning when I need support and motivation and then drifiting away when things are going well. I lost about 15 pounds in 2007 (motivated by daughter's college graduation and a bad breakup) and have managed to keep them off so far, but am looking at ratcheting up the effort and setting some new goals for myself. The holidays are always a time of backsliding for me and I'm back up to around 140. I also had a bad case of pneumonia this winter that I'm still struggling to get over. I went for about a month without working out and now that I'm back...

01/14 M: Y Zumba (45 Min)

Posted 01-15-2008 at 08:31 AM by LibertyJen
Laurel's bootcamp style Zumba again. She told me afterwards that Beto is developing a more fitness styled Zumba in order to achieve faster results. Guess I won't complain anymore! HA!

I stood in the front row again ... the class was full. There were even some brave men tonight, which always makes it fun. I met STEPHANIE who was just trying it out, and she really enjoyed it. Laurel and I were bantering a bit ... she tried to get me to kick it up. Mostly I was able to keep up with her... a few times I just stopped and watched her giggling. You gotta be kidding ......

Day 10

Posted 01-15-2008 at 07:11 AM by RoxanneRoxanne
My weight today is 272, up .5 pounds. I expected my weight loss to slow down this week, but I didn't expect to see a gain. So I've looked at what I've eaten the last couple of days, and I think that the meat loaf may be the problem. I probably used too much tomato sauce. I checked the carbs per serving before I used it (2 carbs), but I didn't measure the amount that I used. Soooooooo I'm going to freeze the rest of the meatloaf. I'll thaw it later, slather ketchup all over it and feed it to my husband. For the rest of the week, I'll stick to meat that's been baked, broiled, boiled or grilled....

Ramble on

Posted 01-15-2008 at 05:39 AM by BlackRose943
My first 2 week weigh-in has resulted in an 8 pound loss. I admit I was a little disappointed at first because the weight is not coming off as fast as it did the first time I started Atkins. But I also realize that the first time around I was going to the gym or walking 3 miles everyday--plus I was 5 years younger!

All things considered, I'm happy about it! I've watched the scale go up, and down, and up, and up, and up again over the past 2 or 3 years, so seeing it go down is a good thing. No U-turns allowed this time.

The first goal I chose was 135 pounds. For me,...
