YOU: Not Quite a Doctor

Posted 01-30-2008 at 05:29 AM by jezzie
On the subject of amateur doctors ...

Pseudo doctors with Google MD degrees abound.
So I take all medical opinions offered on the Internet with a grain of salt.

The problem is that patients can find too much information - and often they don’t have the expertise to make sense of it. People are exposed to story after story on Web sites, BB's and in chat rooms.

That echo chamber of opinion slowly becomes a reality.

There’s much information, and misinformation, in medicine. Especially on the Internet. One major responsibility...

Caffeine cut right back

Posted 01-30-2008 at 04:11 AM by junkfoodmonkey
Okay, I had one cup of black tea this morning and that's it! That's my caffeine for the day. The rest of the day is herbal or red tea or black decaf coffee. I'm drinking fennel tea right now, it's yum.

Did a tea stock up run at Tesco this morning, to make sure to have plenty of fruit and herbal and red in, so that I've got a good variety to have at work and home, to avoid temptation.

Must resist having cream in the coffee though. Cream and cheese could be the next things I cut back on a lot.

...today I had a salad for brunch and only half at that as one of my kids stole the rest.I made donuts today and succumbed and had a chocolate dipped one.Afterwards I didn't feel well.Fried foods don't agree with me and I also really limit how often the family eats them too.
Then I had cabbage soup for dinner.

Yesterday I had an egg and toast for breaky and ham and veggies for dinner. My body was screaming for chocolate and I resisted. The scale said 157 that morning and was up to 160 that night. The scale said 158 this morning and is up again now too.I don't mind it bouncing...
