Home scale was being crazy again this morning. It said 163. I doubt I gained 3 lbs from yesterday. I'll put my sig back to 163 since that was last week's official weigh in and wait to change it on Tuesday's official weigh in.

Something I've not mentioned and I should have. That's the whole point of the blog. I've been having cramps in my back (PMS type cramps) for the last 3 weeks. It started the week before TOM, continued during TOM, and now it is the week after and I still have it. It is not too bad, it is something you can ignore, but it is there. It is mostly on my right lower...

Feeling Good

Posted 02-16-2008 at 08:31 AM by ceceee8935
What a nice surprise this morning. I woke up an weighed in at 197. That means 2 more lbs gone. Only 7 more to my nexy goal of 190. Every time I see the scale move, I get even more incentive to keep on going. I am hoping after I lose more people will really start to notice. I wish I knew what I weighed when i bought the cute clothes in my closet so I would know when to start giving them a try again I wont try too soon because I dont want any disappointments yet since I am losing. I think I was probably around 180 so I will wait on that and wait til the clothes I am wearing...

Halcyon days...LC'ing joy

Posted 02-16-2008 at 07:14 AM by Zer
A term - halcyon days - comes to mind, as I contemplate how amazingly good, how calm, I feel with 40g of protein in me this ayem, having just slurped up my hot slosh (WPP+espresso+cacao+VCO) in preparation for a productive day.
Quote:
halcyon: a mythical bird said to breed at the time of the winter solstice in a nest floating on the sea and to have the power of calming the winds and waves; a large kingfisher widely distributed in warmer parts of the Old World; (Greek mythology) a woman who was turned into a kingfisher
(adjective): idyllically calm and peaceful; suggesting happy tranquillity

YOU: Food is in the News

The Farmers’ Market Effect

Vouchers that permit low-income women to shop at a local farmers’ market increase fruit and vegetable consumption in poor families, a new study shows.

The research, published this month in the American Journal of Public Health, comes just as states are making important changes to national nutrition programs.

For years, the federally-funded Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.) program, which subsidizes food purchases for low-income women and young children, hasn’t included fruits and vegetables, except for fruit juice and...

YOU: and The Information Age

Posted 02-15-2008 at 01:53 PM by jezzie
Bottom line: Privacy statements are basically letting you know you don't have any.

I'm sure there is a master computer somewhere that knows when I stopped buying cigarettes,
what I put in my coffee, how much gas I use a month, what I read and what size I wear.

Yet for my last hospitalization no less than six people asked me who my primary physician was.
(Same one for 15 years and I'd been in this hospital twice before.)
And every visit to the doctor the same nurse asks me what medications I'm taking and how much.

We're...
