New Start

So here I am..one again starting this program after desperatly trying Medifast, Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig...Again. Why oh why do I torture myself like this? I know that DANDR is the only plan that works for me and yet I continue to waste my money on programs that I think will work but don't for my body type.

I think there's some truth in the fact that depending on what type of blood type you have and what type of body you have, different diets work for you. I've seen alot of people be very successful on low-fat diets, etc. However, for some reason (unknown to me) they...

Weigh In was a delight today 163.8 lbs!
I averaged 2 lbs for the past two weeks. I was worried about it, but looks like my calories and TOM was definately a part of the problems.

I have reached two rewards. I get an afternoon off work for a movie and a day off work for a massage. Since I have to take off Friday and Monday due to gov't family day and holiday, I may have to wait to schedule these, but I should be able to work them in next week.

Stats:
15Jan08: 178 lbs
22Jan08: 171.4 lbs
29Jan08: 167.8 lbs
12Feb08: 163.8

CARB COUNTING - Duh!!

Posted 02-12-2008 at 04:41 AM by squeakie
It SEEMS that over the past few days I MAY have found the stall-breaker and it turns out to be the most obvious thing. CARBS. Duh! Since maybe Saturday, I have been slowly but very steadily losing again, all because I actually really counted how many carbs I was having - and realized it was too many. I have now cut way back to no more than 20 per day. Previously I was having anywhere between 30 and 50 (sometimes even more) per day. Fitday was a big help.

I still have no idea why I lost so fast the first week, because in that week I was still having too many carbs. Well, I guess...

YOU: and Manners

How important are manners in our daily dealings with people? Our co-workers, friends, and family?

Within my family, extended family and acquaintances manners still seem to be alive and well.
Even my three year old grandson knows ... "No thank you" and "Please".

But from reading at various boards I'm not sure our slice of the world is representative of society in general.

Quote I read recently that impressed me:
Quote:

a home is also supposed to be a mini version of society where kids learn re love, give/take/,

Aw Shin Splint!

Posted 02-11-2008 at 09:54 PM by Bethanyblondie
Well, I'm gonna have to hold off on running another 5k for now. I have a very tender right shin, which is the beginning of shin splints. Shin splints are, and I quote, "inflammation of the periostium of the tibia (sheath surrounding the bone). Traction forces occur from the muscles of the lower leg on the periostium causing shin pain and inflammation."

So I am going to do lower impact forms of cardio for now until my shin feels better. I did the eliptical and the stationary bike tonight, which was actually a nice change from the treadmill. I can tell that going to
