YOU: Loving the Animals

Posted 03-10-2008 at 01:53 PM by jezzie
Binti Jua , a gorilla in the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, put her maternal feelings of protection into action when
a three year old boy fell into the gorilla exhibit.

Binti rushed over to the child and cradled and comforted him, keeping him safe from less-friendly gorillas.

The boy spent a few days in hospital and then was released.

Binti's Aunt, Koko, lives at the Gorilla Foundation in Woodside, California. She is famous for her extensive knowledge of American Sign Language, which she uses to communicate with humans and her Gorilla-friend,...

Kinda hungry today

Posted 03-10-2008 at 01:37 PM by amithereyet
Well, I felt a hunger pang for the first time in a few days. Not starving but not full. I waited it out though and stayed on plan...so far so good! Just had lunch and man, that husband of mine can cook a mean batch of garlic shrimp! Still taking psyllium husk powder three times a day, along with FO and MV. This is finals week and then I'm done for the quarter! Next week I'm taking a day off to catch up on Tivo--no DH, no DD, just me and the couch.

B: latte' and almonds
L: garlic shrimp (leftovers), cucumbers, almonds
S: beef jerky, green peppers, almonds (may not need...

Day 56 Mon 10Mar08 - Anxiety over La trip starting

Posted 03-10-2008 at 09:00 AM by abvidrine
Updated 03-10-2008 at 08:18 PM by abvidrine
Monday morning and I am already having anxiety about our Easter trip in 11 days.

Home scale was 153.5 this am.

Cardio this afternoon.

My anxiety is kicking in today. I have a good day ahead for work (not stressful), but I am feeling very stressed out and I think it is my upcoming trip.
I am very excited about it and looking forward to it. It must be the plane trip that is stressing me out. I've started my packing list and planning in my head how to handle the flights with Chloe. It should be fine, I just have to get a handle on my anxiety....

ME Day 4

Posted 03-10-2008 at 08:49 AM by s1mon3
Still kicking it with ME!! It is true what they say about appetite being non-exsistent after the 3rd day. Yesterday I didn't have one. I ate three meals, but didn't stuff or force myself to eat. I even had a protein shake for lunch. The regular ME'ers told me they have them often while they are on the plan with no problems. I guess we will see. All I know if my jogging pants are very baggy and slide down when I sit down! I'LL TAKE IT!!

RAW FOOD, REAL WORLD

Posted 03-10-2008 at 08:29 AM by LibertyJen
By Matthew Kenney and Sarma Melngailis

I just finished reading this interesting find. Matthew is a highly acclaimed chef and restauranteur in NYC, who is now a part of the Raw Food Movement. My DH and I scoffed when we heard that they were opening a Raw Food Restaurant, but now I am seeing the wisdom in their approach.

Yes, it is vegan. That seems so contrary to what I have found to be true. I also recognize now that it is the processed foods that have given me so much trouble in my life ... I eat a lot of meat as well. Perhaps cutting back would be a good idea....
