Day 4

Posted 04-03-2008 at 01:01 PM by tammay
Doing great this morning, as the stiffness I had in my left arm for the past few days (from sliding like a kid in the dirt ) has almost gone so I can do some exercise today. I did nearly none yesterday, both because the weather was crappy and because I spent most of the day doing errands (taxes, laundry - I get a nice fat check from the government this year, though - which is sorely needed!)

I'm actually glad I'm not feeling much of the "carb detox" but then I'm not on induction level carbs.

Yesterday's menu:
1 egg + 1 egg white scrambled and sauted...

Howdy, yal. I weighed in at 168.6 (up from 164.6) today. FUN! I guess that's what I get for pigging out. I tried to returned to my induction eating plan and feel great again, but ended up binging on Atkins AGAIN.

B: 2 eggs (hard-boiled), 1 oz cheese, 1 cup broccoli w/ butter
L: pork chop (cooked in butter), 1 oz cheese, 1 cup cucumber slices, berry tea (no sweetener) (ALL OK UP TO THIS POINT)
D: 2 chicken breast w/ skin, 1 cup green pepper, 3 oz cheese, few slices of turkey breast, 3 oz cream, 2-4 tbsp sugarfree syrup
(LOTS OF FOOD)

So I forgot...

Well I actually made it to the gym yesterday. I thought by going at 8:30 PM it would be dead. Boy was I wrong...it was a madhouse! I couldn't get my favourite elliptical machine with the T.V to see who they kicked off Idol...I found out when I got home...oh well. I was so sore from the day before which limited my workout. My legs just didn't want to give much, so I did a 21 minute workout within my target heart rate for fat burning, and followed it up with 20 minutes of weight training, and ended with the core work on the ball..overall I'm pleased with my performance!

Hmmm, where have the days gone??

I seem to have slacked off a bit and gotten sloppy with my eating. Not necessarily illegal foods, but quantities are sometimes out of control. Been on a nut kick lately --- waaay too much! Also been *eating* sugar free gum too. I've always eaten my gum, but have been shovelling it in piece after piece. I have to find something else to do/eat besides peanuts and gum. By the way, this compulsion only seems to be at work. At home I'm not nearly as bad.

Good news is that this week I've started walking on my afternoon breaks. My friend and...

Do we ever really stop thinking about food?

Posted 04-03-2008 at 06:54 AM by slimdays
This conversation came up on my meeting this week. After some discussion the answer was no. The leader tried to say it gets better but she recently had a big slip herself and she has been at goal for 11 years.

We talked about emotional eating and what to do when we want something that would be off plan.

I was listening but my mind was telling me something else. My mind was saying ya okay but when that thot comes you know what you are going to do. Don't ya?

To that I say food does not control me. My thots do not control me. I am in control...
