Today is the final weigh-in for my workplace holiday fitness challenge. Since I had already hit my goal of 118 lbs when the challenge started, my goal was to maintain weight and exercise throughout the 4 weeks of the challenge.

I weighed in on October 27 at 117.4 lbs. For final weigh-in, I was 114.2 lbs!!! This is nearly the lowest I've ever been. I'm a little concerned about maintaining with the holidays upon us, but I will not let it get out of hand.

There is a poem that goes with the fitness challenge:

I meet with my therapist today (thank goodness) so hopefully that helps. My whole thing now is that I am so 'fat' I just want to lose weight, and I am not seeing the losses so I am getting frustrated. I know logically that if I keep doing what Im doing I will lose, I just...

I started a thread entitled, "why I am not planning on low-carbing for Thanksgiving. It opened such a can of worms.

One thing that came out of it was the scary fundamentalism that people have, not just about this diet but about life in general.

Words were thrown around like, "you'll be sorry" and "slippery slope" etc. I think that telling people that just one bite of a potato will send them off this diet and back into gaining weight is rediculous. We have to live in this world and ergo we have to learn to be around food. We need to learn what...

okay i am NOT going whole out today since i have this horrid head cold, but i will try my best!

i read through quickly yesterday "Beyond Atkins" by Dr Douglas Markham, and I think this is the most doable option for me right now...it allows yogurt, fruit and some other things i'd like to keep in for health reasons, so it made me happy to read the menu plans..

one thing i had forgotten about LC is that you MUST count your protein along with your carbs! how could i have forgotten that?

so for my 5 ft 1 in frame, i need 60-70 gr protein...

WALK down any street in America and you'll see the effects of the "obesity epidemic". Two-thirds of adults, more than 130 million people, are now considered overweight, and nearly half of these are classified as obese.
