December Goals

December Goals:
I'm learning to set smaller more manageable goals for myself.
My fitness goals this month are:
To EAT at least 3x a day! I've developed a horrible habit in my teens till now of eating once (dinner) or maybe 2x a day. When I was going through my heavy teens phase, someone had said to me "Only eat when you're hungry", I took it to heart and it worked. In fact has worked for me all my life and I never experienced any weight issues UNTIL my 30's came along! My body doesn't know anything other than 'starvation mode' and I find it unnatural and hard to...

South Beach is like low carb Mediterranean

The first phase of South Beach is like the Mediterranean diet without carbs. After that, there isn't a whole lot of difference. However there is a lot more support (recipes, menus, etc) with South Beach. So that's what I am staying on.

Back to work

The cold is lingering but I'm able to go back to work today.
Really p!ssed of that I went back up 1.4 pounds overnight. I know the weight is going to go up and down, and as long as it's a downward trend I should be happy, but it's still frustrating. I'm so tired of being this fat. I want the weight gone now! I know I didn't gain it overnight and I won't lose it overnight but can't help feeling the way I feel. It'll pass though.
I think that sometimes I just don't believe that eating the way I'm eating can lead to weight loss. Even though yesterday I was 25 pounds down. I'm still...

Week 2 - Carb Cycling - Muscle Growth

This week I'm starting to really ramp up the weight training. I'm basically doing it BFL-style with HIIT on the off-days, with one day of Yoga on Saturday instead of HIIT. I have always responded well to these structured high-intensity programs, but have never actually tried eating more to build muscle. I've always tried to do all this exercise in order to "lose weight" and when it looked like I was actually gaining, I would start cutting back on the exercise.

Well, now I've decided to go into it whole hog. If I end up gaining a few pounds, so be it. I'm going to keep...
