Maybe This Time...

Posted 08-07-2008 at 11:47 AM by carbstart
I'm back on the Atkins bandwagon, and hopeful that I can take off the weight. I'm 50+ and twice the woman I used to be in my 20s (unfortunately, I mean that almost literally).

Did Atkins with some success as the big 5-0 approached, but became impatient and tried Medifast, then fell off the bandwagon altogether. The result is that even my fat clothes don't fit.

Restarted on August 27 so am approaching 2 week anniversary. Have been good except one dinner at a friend's on Tuesday night. Carb-blocker to the rescue.

I am also swim/do water...

New Scales

Posted 08-07-2008 at 07:35 AM by kiwikid
I bought new bathroom scales today. I debated it for a while. My current ones are reasonably accurate, but they only have a small dial with 1kg marked each mm. That is just too tiny and difficult to see from a standing position. The new scales are good quality digital German ones. They show both kg, lbs and stones, and they give me one decimal place as well, although I have decided to always round.

I tested them repeatedly and multiple weighings only differs by .3kg. A really old set I have, which I will now throw out, differs by 5kg so this is a big improvement!

Toilets. Without a doubt toilet stall in USA are smaller than I have encountered anywhere else, and there is something WRONG; really wrong, with the design of the toilet seats used in public toilets.

I travel a lot in different parts of the world, and I have never encountered the issues I faced toileting in USA. Somehow because of the shape, or molding of the seat, I found that I could not reach...

Week 10

Posted 08-06-2008 at 08:35 PM by laurihill
Still 179. I am totally ok with that. My body is adjusting. I am eating a lot of veggies also. I don't care, eating veggies will just make me healthy. Next week will be a lower number.
