Well, I've gotten over my discouragement from yesterday and feel better today. I think hitting the 10 pound weight loss mark helped! <even though I gave in and ate a half of a peach last night right at bedtime>.

I started re-reading my YOU On A Diet book but was afraid it would be to drastic of a change and mess up my weight loss. Then I remembered my South Beach book. I dusted it off and will begin re-reading it today. I think I've brainwashed myself into thinking every form of carb is off-limits. Now I need to reprogram my thinking to include the healthy complex...

Coming along nicely with a healthier lifestyle

Winding down for the nite, although all I did today was mostly relax. I got in a nap, made a veggie casserole, spent time out on the deck with the kitty and my laptop, kicked back in my La Fuma, ate healthy... I can say it was a good day.

I have been revisiting using natural blood sugar lowering agents--vanadium, gymnia sylvestrae, cinnamon...and also looking into getting back into using more flax seed and oil as a diet supplement.

Hot flashes have kept me awake lately at nite with lots of tossing and turning and pulling covers on and off. The only good thing...

I'm tired. I've been feeling tired and drained for awhile now. Shouldn't I feel energized by now? I'm beginning to think it is because of my diet. I feel like giving up or checking into other diets, but maybe I just need to study the next phase and see what gets added back in. I think I need to add back in some complex carbs. I'll do some reading and studying before I make a decision.

Deep Dish Pizza Quiche...

DEEP DISH PIZZA QUICHE

4 oz softened cream cheese
4 eggs
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
1 tbs chives
1/2 tsp Italian or pizza seasoning
2 cups shredded cheese (I use mozzarella/cheddar mix)
1/2 tsp wet garlic or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup lowest carb tomato or pizza sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Toppings to taste (I use pepperoni, sausage, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, whatever!)

Preheat oven to 375.
Beat together cream cheese and eggs till smooth (I use a blender)....

Finally after six weeks of doing everything right I have lost three lbs this week. Maybe my body has finally come to the conclusion that it doesn't need to store fat as I keep feeding it plenty. I could feel that I had lost because I was hungry a couple of times and that hadn't happened before. Didn't have any time to do the treadmill as I was busy collecting all mum's clothes from the Rest home she was living in. She has now gone to a private hospital but it is doubtfull that she will walk again. She has had a partial hip replacement but it probably won't stand the strain of walking. She has...
