This HAS to be it!

I first tried Atkins about 4 years ago, and lost 30 lbs in about 3 months. Then, we went to Hong Kong for a week, and I have struggled ever since to get back on and stay on.

I have found it harder and harder every year to stick with it. The fatigue just wouldn't go away, I felt like induction flu all the time.

I have recently found out that I have very low progesterone levels, would would explain the fatigue and cravings. Hmmm....could that have been why I wasn't really losing and still feeling so lousy??

It's month 2 of bioidentical progesterone therapy, 100mg a day for 12 days of my cycle. I am getting more energy, and now it is time to get back on low carb.

I am celiac and can't eat most grains and corn anyway....I am in constant digestive distress...even from potatos! I know this is the way my body wants to eat....now I just to make sure my brain sticks with it.

My heaviest every was 241 lbs. I am 5'6" tall, 38 years old, have 2 children. I had gestational diabetes in both pregnancies, and basically ate low carb during my 2nd one, and gained only 15 lbs total, and kept my blood sugars under control without insulin.

I occasionally check my fasting, and they are creeping up again by eating all these carbs again.

My naturopath told me to eat coconut oil to bring down my triglycerides and LDL's and increase my HDL!!

I need to lose this time. I am so sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired. I feel like a terrible mother because I am always so tired. We've eaten out all week, because DH and I are just both too tired to cook. This has got to STOP NOW!!!!

good job Radiance!! aghhh I know about the sweet tooth yesterday was sooo hard for me I wanted something sweet so bad. I'm in the Air Force and I live in the dorms so I don't prepare my own food I take what they give me. So yesterday I was in the cafeteria and surrounded by cake and I asked the worker if the jello was sugar free.....nope sure wasn't so I was out of luck...but hey I stuck to it and didn't cheat I was proud. Oh and by the way I totally understand about being tired all of the time, I just recently visited my doctor because i'm always fatiqued and i'm at my heaviest weight i've ever been so I was thinking maybe it's my thyroid. Nope the doctor says I have Mono for a second time, but I've had it for a few months now, and as crazy as it sounds low carb is actually making me feel more energized instead of vice versa. So stick with it you can do it It will definitely pay off in the end! Oh and you inspired me to NOT eat cheese on my hamburger patties.....it's gonna be hard but your doin it with me

I am throwing out all prescription meds!! This last round is making me feel worse than the original problem!!!

I started with what felt like a gallbladder attack, but the pain stayed with me for a week.....it was starting to subside, but my dr recommeneded I try reflux medication, to see if that helps. Good God.....yes, the acid has lessened, but everything else hurts more. My muscles ache, I am really dizzy, my BP is plummeting to 85/60....my stomach is sore and distended, I have so much gas, and it won't leave my body......constipation.....this is all after only 4 days on it. I can't imagine people who take this stuff for years!!!

I had an abdominal ultrasound, and there is one gallstone, approx 1.5cm. Dr didn't think it was enough to cause all these problems.

I do agree, I think it is GERD, as I also have the irritated throat, wheezing, sinus trouble, which could all be linked to acid coming up the esophagus, especially at night. So I am off to find something today to put under the foot of my bed to raise it....as it is just too uncomfortable trying to do it with pillows.
