Okay, ladies, I'm going to give it to you straight: I know that (some of?) you are moms and I know moms are busy. It can be a challenge to find the time to do what you need to do. But I will tell you what the main difference is between my first attempt at Atkins, several years ago, and this later attempt, which has been more successful. The main difference is:
COMMITMENT.
Everything starts there. Because I am committed, I take a few minutes a day to plan out my meals on Fitday (it's free, and it's super-helpful). Because I am committed, I read and re-read the book and familiarize myself with ALL phases of Atkins, not just Induction. Because I am committed, I don't cheat. Because I am committed, I follow the steps of OWL (Ongoing Weight Loss) and introduce new foods in an orderly manner. Because I am committed, I plan ahead and shop wisely and cook food ahead of time to make my life easier.
Last time I did Atkins, I pretty much stayed on Induction for a few months and then began flailing around and cheating, and then I'd try to start Induction again, and then I'd go off-plan again, and I never held on to the focus and discipline I have found this time around.
Because I am committed, I have passed my first goal of reaching 150 pounds, and am still going strong.
You CAN do this if you want it enough and if you know you deserve it! Who knows where you all will be in six months? You'd be surprised! So do it by the book, be serious about it, and GOOD LUCK to you!
