i've lost 122 pounds now

Posted 05-03-2009 at 02:01 AM by Pookie324
since august of 2007. i'm horrible about updating things online.

i eat NO MEAT and very LITTLE dairy. no fish or eggs, either. soy, seitan, and tempeh are my protein bases. along with legumes and peanut butter.

my big problem? not having a healthy relationship with food. being as heavy as i was i was dx'd as having binge eating disorder. then i was dx'd as being a compulsive overeater.

if they dx'd me now? i'd be a binger/purger with anorexic tendencies. not all the time, of course, and it's been far far less in this past year and a half. but dropping the animal products and learning about new food sources has truly helped me have a better relationship with my food.

also, eating consciously..when my stomach rumbles. and being careful that i eat small amounts. i literally cannot stomach any of the food or the amounts that i used to eat 1 1/2 years ago. but my health cannot be better. my dr. has cut my b/p meds in half. my b/p is 110/70 while taking the full med. so we are going to see what happens when the med is cut in half.

i'd love to lose another 125 pounds but i've never been that weight that i can ever remember. i'm hoping to get there in the next year and a half.

Pookie,
That is absolutely fantastic that you've lost so much!
It sounds like it's been a long hard journey, and of course it's not over, but you are learning- as you say- to have a better relationship with food.
You should be so proud of yourself! You are admitting your mistakes, learning from them, and making better choices- GO YOU!
