Vigilance and Diligence!

Posted 03-18-2009 at 01:02 PM by moonius
I am a creature of habit. I find it interesting that when I'm on vacation everything changes. Normally I spend every morning in prayer and studying the scriptures and I'm pretty anal about watching my carb consumption. But over the past week I was not diligent about my daily practices. I've learned that it's easy to let my guard down when I'm on vacation. Routine can be boring but for me it's an absolute necessity. We live and learn and I've learned that pounds return more quickly than they disappear!

This week I'm back to my routines with a vengeance. Although I did allow myself

Just one bite...

Posted 02-16-2009 at 01:46 PM by moonius
WOW, what a weekend. Valentine's Day was probably the best ever! My wife A'Lisa was so surprised with the ballroom dancing instruction and all the other gifts showered on her. She is so special and she deserves it for putting up with me! Cool

Yesterday after church I attended my friend's musical birthday bash. That was quite a treat to play with so many talented musicians! Besides the onlookers there were at least 25 musicians, playing electric guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, slide guitar, accordion and harmonica. But the fat cells themselves, stubborn little guys, replace that lost fat with water to retain their size. That is, instead of shrinking to match the reduced amount of fat in the cell, they stay the same size!

This has been true in my body this month. I have had three Thursdays

The Scale Can Lie

A biologist at Berkeley shared something very revealing on the low-carb BBS system about 4 years ago that helps us all through the erratic weight fluctuations you invariably encounter:

Super Bowl Weekend!

Posted 01-31-2009 at 06:19 AM by moonius
Weekends can be a difficult time to stick to your food plan. Especially this weekend with Super Bowl parties. It's easier for me to eat right during the week because I plan my breakfast and lunch. What about planning your food this weekend? How about getting in some exercise? Maybe drinking water instead of caving in to the munch monster? Fail to plan...plan to fail.

Tomorrow I'm taking low carb goodies to the Super Bowl party and I won't be tempted to eat anything not on my food plan. I'm making 5 alarm hot wings (they only burn twice ), little smokies, assorted cheeses and spinach
