MISS SOPHIE'S PLACE

I began low-carbing in April 2003 and was very strict. I lost 30 pounds in around four months, hit a plateau, but kept it off for a couple years.

I was hit with a death in the family and resulting legal issues which cause a year of intense stress in 2005. I went off-plan, but stayed sugar free. My adrenals stopped working and the combination of stress and poor food choices resulted in me regaining all that I had lost.

I am finally at a place where I can recommit to low carbing since it is essential for my health. I am insulin resistant and cannot eat sugars and starches on a regular basis.

The Beginning...again

I have successfully finished induction, but I think I will continue induction for awhile. I need the appetite suppressant effect as my cravings for sweets can get the better of me.

For some reason I took on a lot of water retention this past week, but it seems to be leaving now which is great, because it makes my hands so tight, they hurt.

I haven't seen much movement downward on the scale, so I'm getting motivation from using ketostix each morning. So far they have been a very deep purple which is encouraging.

I haven't kept a low carb journal for a very long time, but I think it will help me process my feelings about having to undo the damage I did by going off-plan in 2005/2006.

Here we go!

Good job.
Just remember that dark purple can mean dehydration too. Remember to drink lots of water

Reg, Thanks!

Ceceee, yes, I have heard that too. I'm doing my best to get in lots of water.
