to what I knew had worked for me in the past..the pretty distant past as in high school and college. I went back to Stillman's QWL diet. I didn't know if I could do it again or if I'd have problems with it but I determined I would give it as long a try as I could muster. I was more careful this time than I had ever been before. I made very certain I had a good multivitamin and a couple calciums with D everyday. I drank all the required water and used a salt substitute for pottassium..also some Crystal lite hydrating varieties. Bottom line is it gave me a good start. In three weeks I had lost about...

knowing that I was in trouble, I also knew the simple solution...the solution to most of my physical ills throughout my life..and it was to lose weight..a lot of weight. I resolved to get to a healthy weight. I remembered that I weighed 150 pounds when I was married at the age of 21 and that I could while I was single maintain that weight pretty well..so that was my original goal weight. After research on the internet I found that the highest weight considered 'healthy' for my frame was 145 and so that became my final goal..one that I knew I would have to maintain for the rest of my life, in order...

I guess it was turning 55 that got me started losing weight. On my 55th birthday I weighed 315 pounds and had recently been put on blood pressure medication and cholesterol medication. I was feeling poorly and realized that if I continued at life the way I was doing, my life would be shorter than it had to be...maybe very short. I had four young dogs who quite frankly needed me to be around for at least another 10 or 12 years. I could see my loved ones were becoming more and more concerned about my health and my daughter told me...'I want you to live a long time, Mommy.' So sweet. She still called...
