Releasing The Thinner Me with HCG! ;-)
This is my second attempt at losing weight with HCG. During the first time I lost 10.6 pounds in one week while using the homeopathic HCG - then I gave up due to cheating and hunger. I decided to try the RX brand this time with hopes that it will control my hunger a little more. I feel very confident and I'm committing myself 100% to the protocol. I can do this :-)
My highest weight this year was 230 pounds right before giving birth to my son in July 2009.
My lowest weight last year was 165.5 on 6/28/2008, 1.5 months before I got married. Check out my youtube channel for proof!
Anyways, I have set a mini goal of 165 by my 35th birthday in March 2010.
Thanks in advance for your encouraging words and support.

Meek,
I did damage to my metabolism as well. I was losing steadily following a plan similar to Southbeach. 3 meals 2 snacks/day. I got smug and confident and allowed myself treats once every week for a a couple months. I didn't gain so I thought, I can have this...well before the holidays last year I noticed my weight was creeping up and I started a M/E fast. Big mistake, my metabolism really slowed down to a crawl and to make matters worse, I stopped walking and turbo jamming (yes I was a fanatic). The M/E fast only made me gain faster, whenever I would go off I would put on a couple more pounds.
Well, long story short instead of going back to what I knew worked, I kept fasting in between going to all of these holiday gatherings eating foods I knew were junk. I told myself I was enjoying my weight loss (listening to well-meaning friends, I guess) Big Mistake!! I gained a total of 22 pounds from Oct-Dec last year.
I am now eating 1500 calories a day spread out over 5 small meals. I have fast carbs (bread or oatmeal) with my morning meal and the rest of the day is low carb. I walk 2.5 miles 5 days/week and I am turbo jamming again 3 days a week (strength training DVD for sculpting). I have lost 7 pounds but the inches off my waist are what I am most proud of you see I have very little booty; I carry my weight up top in my arms, chest and abdomen. Ironically, this is the last place I lose so I have to strength train, its my secret weapon.
I began January 7 after reading everything I could get my hands on regarding healthy eating ...not dieting healthy eating. I believe I have finally got it now. My mindset has changed and like I tell my children ..I am on nobody's timetable, I will regain my health one day at a time. Whenever I set a deadline I screw around with my thinking and go off track. Now I just take it one meal at a time and as for listening to my so-called well-meaning friends, not any more. I am doing this just for me and no one else. I have finally got it and someday I will be able to post pictures of my progress. I really see me making goal someday soon.
You can do this Meek, trust what you know to be true. There are no shortcuts to this WOE. I see every person that is successful on this board got there by eating healthy and excercise and they didn't do it overnight.

Thanks for posting Meek. We have learned our lesson. Losing fast isn't good at all.

Hi Meek, I'm a newbie and I found your blog from doing a search for the word 'fasting' on the home page. I stumbled on this site a week ago from doing a google search about water fasts. I found this old posting and I thought it was wonderful inspiration- http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/pa...llenge-28.html
I have only fasted once before but only made it to day 5, but even after that, it was one of the best things I have ever done, and I lost 10 pounds!(and I haven't gained an ounce back) Anyway, I just signed up hoping to find someone to be miserable with while I fast lol. I started day one of my 10 day water fast today :-) I'm not so much doing mine for weight loss as I am discipline and health. I'm a newly single mom of three and life has been very stressful. The last time I fasted was the first time I was able to step back and look at issues more clearly. I understand if you're not interested but I figured that I would ask anyway. Here is a really good link that explains the benefits of fasting besides just general weight loss....but yeah that kinda is a GREAT benefit :-) http://www.falconblanco.com/health/fasting.htm ~Michelle |
