pole dancing-fun exercise

Posted 05-09-2009 at 11:14 AM by luvnit
Okay, I actually exercise a lot which is why it baffles me how I got so big so quickly. No, that's a lie, when I became depressed and my worse enemy was posing as my best friend I ate all kinds of bad food and exercised little. After Christmas break like so many people I got back on track until things began to go awry again and I looked to people who did not feel that low carb was a good way for me. To make it bad enough they recommended a cheat day, which is like telling an alcoholic it's ok to drink once a week, in the beginning stages of recovery. After some more discord in my Life I finally decided to get back on track.
Mind you it has only been 5 days but I am taking it one day at a time and although I refuse to step on the scale my clothes will tell me when progress is being made. Luckily I have clothes from a size 4 to 14 so wherever I am at I always have something to wear.

Now that I am back on track I decided that I wanted to add something new to my exercise routine. My body is a classic example of getting used to a type of exercise and stop responding. I'm forever on the elliptical, and I spend some time on the various step machines but I have figured out subconscious ways to cheat and therefore am not giving my body what it deserves. I have added running in the park and weight lifting but my favorite is definitely pole dancing.

I bought a portable pole for my home and I set it up in my bedroom. I made a song set of music that makes me want to move that's about an hour long and I have been going at it. With the pole that I bought ( called an X pole) came a CD that not only has instructions for putting it up but also a handful of basic moves. Now, I am thicker than a snicker, but I am still in my room wrapping my pork chops around the pole trying to imitate the moves on the CD. It says that you will use all of your muscles and I am sure using a lot and having lots of fun doing it. My husband is waiting for me to get good enough to do some super tricks on there and so am I. Its much more fun that I thought it would be. I can't wait until I look like one of those woman that host the videos.

A word of warning to anyone who may be in search of one, do not get the Electra pole unless you are already small. I bought that one first and even though I am under its maximum weight it fell on me and I got a gash in my foot. So not sexy.
