Day 10

Posted 06-05-2008 at 06:56 PM by laurihill
Today was bumming day. I love bumming day soooo much. I only leave our place usually once a week, so when that day rolls around I'm all over it.

Went to lots of stores, did lots of errands, bought the things I need. Didn't get too many groceries. I still have enough veggies home and meat, so just got some eggs, sting cheese, butter, and a box of Atkins bars (like a mounds bar). I didn't eat dinner until I got home at 2:30.

Brkf: same
dinner: braniberry salad
1 sting cheese, lunch meat
snack: pecans
protein shake
supper:
lettuce salad
ham

Todays lesson.....Differentiate between hunger, desire, and cravings

Almost every dieter has difficulty telling the difference between true hunger (when you have fasted for several hours and your stomach is empty), a desire to eat ( not being hungry but eating because there is food around), and a craving ( a physiological and emotionally intense urge to eat).

Todays task is to help figure out when you're truly hungry

1. Before I sit down to eat notice how my stomach feels. Write a description of this feeling. Get a notebook and moniter you hunger on a scale of 1 to 10

Once I learn to tell the difference between hunger and craving, dieting will be easier

I think this is an easy one. I know the difference. Today waiting till 2:30, I was hungry. I waited and ate healthy, which took care of my hunger. I ate a handful of nuts because they were there, I would say that was desire. I haven't had any craving since 2 days into induction. Before that my physical craving were off the chart, I swear, I would have eaten sugar my the teaspoon if there was nothing else in the house. I am so glad those horrible craving are gone.

I'm so glad to hear you had a good day and that your cravings are gone!!! I have also been able to tell the difference between real and fake hunger! I think the mass water intake has truly helped with that!!! Keep up the good work!!!
