Slow Progress

Posted 09-05-2008 at 03:24 PM by Kiwi Mum
Have changed my weighing day to Saturdays as that is much more convenient. Still losing but only .4 of a pound. I have a really slow metabolism, something to do with my Thyroid. I am glad I haven't set myself any goal weights. I would love to get to 280 by Christmas but at this rate I will be lucky to make 280. The upside despite having a stressful week is I feel quite good. Have not managed the treadmill at all but walked the hospital corridors instead. Mum who is nearly 88 years had a fall in her rest home and broke her hip. After many assessments they finally operated and gave her a partial hip replacement. She was only given a 50% per cent chance of making it thru the operation as she has a loud heart murmur, An anuerism in her tummy and restricted blood flow to the heart but was not a candidate for a stent. On top of that she has advanced Alzheimers. Well she came thru with flying colours. She isn't out of the woods yet and has many more weeks in hospital for rehabilitation. We have been told she can't go back to her Rest home but will need hospital care so they have to find a different rest home for us that has a hospital attached.
