Stormy night but...smooooth sailing!

Posted 09-21-2009 at 06:39 PM by Keptewe
Yes...it is storming again in NWArkansas! I've never seen a summer and early fall for rain like this year since I moved here 11 years ago. We have only seen a couple of peeks of sun in the past two weeks and tonight we are under a tornado/thunderstorm warning AGAIN! So strange but hopefully tomorrow will be cooler because Tom and I have to work outside again and I'm looking for cool temperatures!

As for the smooth sailing...things settled down considerably as the week progressed. From a Monday morning high of 145 lb . I ended up at 140 lb on Friday morning. This despite...

Struggling...

Posted 09-16-2009 at 01:29 PM by Keptewe
with the scale and with my appetite. I think that adding some carbs into my diet, even though it wasn't a lot, has pushed me back into the "crave zone". I have really wanted to eat cookies, cake and bread. I really think that it started with the wine gums last week and just escalated from there. I remember when I first started this WOE, I was amazed how easy it was to resist those sweet treats. Well...not any more.

My strategy...go back to keeping carbs under 30g/day. Restock the pantry and fridge with "legal" snack food. Resist the urge...

Gripe session...

Posted 09-12-2009 at 02:57 PM by Keptewe
The power cord for my laptop bit the dust this past week so I haven't been able to spend any time online. Which means...I have accumulated gripes over the past few days.

Gripe#1

I was able to get back down to 141 by Monday but ONLY for one day. I popped right back up to 142 and this morning...143. What doesn this mean?

Gripe#2

I have made some good choices when it comes to food this week but I have also made some bad ones. There were times when I was just too tired to figure out something to eat and ended up eating the family...

Done!

Posted 09-07-2009 at 05:28 PM by Keptewe
141 lbs this morning. Mission accomplished for the long weekend. Back to maintenance weight and the wiser for the journey.

It's warm here again and I am not looking forward to working out in the heat this week. But, we HAVE to get that porch roof shingled! Tom got the chicken coop finished so now we are ready to get some birds. Hopefully, we will be able to get some this week so that they can settle in and start laying ASAP.

I hope everyone who is feeling like they messed up this weekend will be able to leave it behind and start the work week motivated...

"Wheeeee!"

Posted 09-06-2009 at 04:35 PM by Keptewe
Still riding that scale back down! 142 this morning. That is within a pound of my maintenance goal. I know a pound really doesn't make much difference to how I look or feel physically. But, this weight thing is only partly about the physical. Most (for me) is about the psychological. Seeing that number makes me feel....happier, more in control, powerful, sexy, and less likely to overeat. Maybe that SHOULDN'T be so....but it IS.

Statistically, people who weight themselves every day are less likely to regain the weight that they have lost. Visiting with the folks over at the...
