Just a rant about my diabetic/pre-diabetic friends.....

Posted 07-31-2009 at 05:26 PM by katrina9799
I am relatively thin-but at one time I had an addition 30 pounds packed on my frame.

In 2005 I joined the low carb lifestyle and developed a program that works ok for me, (although I have fallen off a few times), I have always gotten back on the horse before I have had too much weight gain.......

My overweight friends tell me how lucky I am to have a 'hummingbird metabolism'.......

I have told them many times that I keep myself on a strict low carb lifestyle and that I also somewhat restrict quantity.......

This always falls on deaf ears. Despite their health problems, (diabetes, prediabetes and overweight), I see them eating about every 2 hours at work......
cookies, pie, cake, french toast w/reg syrup.....

all the while I am drinking water or coffee w/splenda.

Then they tell me they hate being fat and how lucky i am to have such a great metabolism.....

GO FIGURE!

My opinion of eating every 2 hours?

We are adults.....NOT INFANTS. Infants eat every 2 hours. Unless I am trying to gain weight, or I am climbing a mountain.......I don't think that I or anyone else needs to....

Just a rant. Feel free to agree or disagree.
