Nursing school started again last week
and things have been back to the normal insanity. I'm so grateful for the week we had off, however, life is taking its toll. I just need to get out of my funk and back to the books!
I've been thinking about buying a T.V. with the hopes of getting a Wii so I can try the Wii fit everybody is raving about. Now that the weather is getting nicer by the day, yard sales will be popping up everywhere and it'll be a perfect opportunity to grab a T.V if I see one!
Last week at work, several comments were made about the amount of water I had been taking from the water cooler. The comments came from the same two people, however, they pissed me off all the same. The comments were about how many more times I was going to come and fill up my water bottle and if I was going to save some for the rest of the clinic. I can't even begin to explain how angry I was! The water is provided by one of our physicians who gets a significant discount. Also, we always have ten, 10gallons on hand everyday!! So, for the past week I have been bringing 4 big water bottles with me to work in hopes of only needing a few refills during my 14 hour shifts. Well, yesterday the comments began again and I just couldn't hold back any longer. I asked what the big deal about getting water was and their response was to the effect of taking too much and wasting. I told them that I drink it!!LOL They said they put out cups for people who would like water and that I should try and do that. My response was what difference would it make if I refilled this little cup 3000 times a day or made a few trips filling up a water bottle. The whole situation just pissed me off so much because nobody even drinks the freaking water except for me and a few physicians!! It takes a couple of days for us to drink a 10 gallon bottle of water so what the hell is the big deal?????? Well, word got out as these things do in this type of setting and the doctor ordering the water spoke up and out about who is and isn't allowed to drink the damn water!!! He spoke to the commentators about monitoring the water and how that is not their job and told me that if I wanted to take a 10 gallon jug on the "floor" with me and stick a straw in it, there would be no problem!LOL I just look at it like, I'm there for the majority of a 24 hour day, with minimal breaks as most people get in hospitals anyway, cut me some slack and give me water dammit!!!
Aside from my overly drawn out b*tch fest, things have been going well! The police stopped by last night to investigate our outdoor fireplace stating that they thought we were burning plastic. The whole situation was very comical! Just picture a bunch of girls having a very low key study group of all things, getting approached by cops!!!! Study groups are probably the lamest of lame in my book and not usually a party by any means, so the whole situation was hilarious and provided a great release of tension for all of us! The cop said, "with all of these girls around, I thought you guys might be having a bra burning party or something". I almost died from laughter! I said, "I thought you were concerned about burning plastic'?. He said, "Well obviously. You ladies were burning bras", again, I nearly died from laughter.(man I hate those plastic bras

sounds like they have too much time on their hands, instead of concentrating on their job...
consider the source, smile and remember... there are a lot of ignorant people that walk along beside us. ![]() |

hahahha cecee I would totally do that, but I like to keep the peace in that place LOL.
Lynne your words are spoken from true wisdom. I do consider the source and smile, but the key word is consider! It still pisses me off!!! LMAO I don't show it to them, but inside I'm boiling! Hopefully, I can truly live by your words of wisdom one day! For now, I'll just fake it! ![]() |

If people would learn to worry about the important things, not how much someone is drinking, the world would be a whole lot better. I say good for that doctor, kind of put those people in their place. 14 hours a day, holy smoke girl, whatcha doing for 14 hours. Are you going to be a lpn, or rn? Good for you. I wish I would have gone into nursing when I was young and still had half a brain left. Keep up the good work.

My motto is that it's never to late for anything!!! The oldest person in my class is 63 years old and the youngest is 23! The ages of students range far between the two! If you set your mind to it, you can do anything!!!
