YOU: Rambling Miscellaneous Thoughts

Posted 01-25-2008 at 08:52 AM by jezzie
Updated 01-25-2008 at 08:54 AM by jezzie
From a list of Eating Disorders symptoms:
• Pre-occupied thoughts of food, weight and cooking.

• Blames failure in social and professional community on weight.

• Obsession with weight and complaining of weight problems
(even if "average" weight or thin).

• Holding the belief that life will be better if they can lose weight.

• Chronic dieting on a variety of popular diet plans.
None fit me ..... but it is food for thought.

YOU: Beauty is not an Age or a Weight

Posted 01-24-2008 at 08:50 AM by jezzie
My thoughts for this 13* Thursday.

[COLOR="DarkOrchid"]
Beauty has no size limit. Beauty has no age limit.

Beauty comes in many shapes, sizes ... and ages.

I will not be confined by shallow stereotypical concepts.

YOU: Body Acceptance

Posted 01-22-2008 at 12:52 PM by jezzie
Found at a blog called Babble:
Quote:

I wonder what kind of world we might live in, if instead of “lose weight”,
people would instead make a new year’s resolution to

“learn more about myself and the people in my life”.

Instead of planning to shed pounds, how about working on shedding
self-hatred/loathing/dislike/discomfort

YOU: Healthy at Every Size

Posted 01-22-2008 at 11:27 AM by jezzie
An article in th NY Times led me to some blogs about Body Acceptance
and ... Health at Every Size.

Quote:
We need a Body Acceptance movement and a Fat Acceptance movement
because hating ourselves is a form of self-injury that doesn’t do anyone any good.

Over the next few days I will do some more digging into this subject.
It is sad to read how fat people who are dieting describe themselves.
